Vinomofo Wine Deals

Thanks, awesome as always!

Looks like I was wrong :)
That said, was a bit surprised that that was the only match, as the blurb said "one of our favourite producers" and I can't remember any Juniper being on VM before. Capel Vale on the other hand has been up many times.

Pretty hard to find a Margaret River Cab blend on the Wine Companion site when it's not actually from Margaret River...
I'd be very surprised to see a Juniper Estate wine on the Fo.

Justin Dry has invited me to have lunch with him next time he's in town, we might have passing conversation on the need for better accuracy in listings. :p

What are peoples experience with the mixed cases? Was looking at the black market one up there today.

I've purchased 3 mixed cases over the past six months. It's good if you are interested in trying a wider range of wines, but I wouldn't expect to be finding too many outstanding wines. So far we've discovered one really nice Pinot, and a handful of other okay'ish wines. There haven't been any outright bad wines, but there have been a few that weren't of a style that really interested me. I'll probably continue to buy the occasional mixed case, just to keep some variety coming through as I do enjoy tasting new wines.

Did anyone receive and try the Glenlofty Shiraz Vognier '13 from last week? I passed based on the quality of the '13 shiraz, but still curious on opinions.

I just came on here to give my opinion as I opened a bottle tonight

I may not be the best to compare with previous years as I haven't tried them, but this vintage is very drinkable.

A lot of spice and is very inviting on the nose but I found it lacked a bit on the palette...I must confess though I was drinking it with a South American meal stock full of meat.

It's good, and for $8 a bottle I'll be very happy to drink it. I have left half a bottle open to see how it goes tomorrow night.

I would agree with those comments. I also opened a bottle a couple of days ago and I thought it was very drinkable. I also bought the 2012 (all gone!) and I though the two years were comparable.

i third this sentiment.
first taste not as good as previous but by the end definitely drinkable and good for the price.

Agree on this - sank the case bar two bottles so going again for sure....
I'm surprised they still have this. I bought a case maybe 18 months ago, and it seems to be coming back up for sale every few months. Is a good buy at that price I think

I tried a bottle over two nights recently and think I'll try another before deciding whether to keep it as admittedly I opened one the day it arrived and there may have been some bottle shock. Full bodied and lots of fruit on the nose, you can definitely smell the fragrance and perfume of the Viognier. White pepper, lots of fruits, spice and just a tad too much acidity on the palate, I noted that this vintage was 15% which is a lot more than the previous vintages which were high 13%. Night two it had softened somewhat and was drinking a lot better but just a tad volatile and unbalanced. Definitely not horrible but just not the same as the 12 which I'm comparing it to. At $8 odd a bottle still great, I'll crack another bottle soon to compare.
