Vinomofo Wine Deals

Back on topic, I thought the Avoca Merlot looked really interesting. Quite an unfashionable grape atm but one of MrGlider's favourites so we'll give this one a go and let you all know when it arrives (IN MAH BELLEH!)

Spoke to my broker about the incorrect wine but haven't heard back...
I have not been so fast, but I will mention it tomorrow to my VM person. I only have 7 bottles remaining after flogging off 3 and having two in the last few days. For dinner last night, this was the starter. I have had very few grigios in my life but this one is very good. Once it warmed up a little, it showed lovely fruit character. Furthermore, it has a very good medium to full flavour. Not this at all ! So good that I would even keep a few, but I am yet to work out how many and how I will put it to them. Bottom line, it was their mistake so they would easily pick up those remaining 7. Ideally I would have liked the prosecco in the first place, but I will report if something good comes out of this. In my few experiences with VM issues, the service has been outstanding.

I must add that wine number two last night was a Danny M's Chardonnay and that was alright. But number three was the 2013 3Oceans explorers chardonnay. You know the one, the little sister of the remarkable 2012. This was my second bottle and this time, no sinking at the end palate. Seamless quality from go to wo. It is a standout wine with a lot of finesse, restrained French oak, slight old school butteriness but not too much, just a delight, incredibly Moorish. That makes it two very high quality explorer wines with the shiraz and chardonnay. I believe I will be getting the cabernet in the next couple of days.

I wouldn't expect a return now that you've "drunk" 5/12 bottles.... While it is their mistake I would think that you've accepted the delivery by drinking/giving away bottles and you might find yourself without a leg to stand on. Their return policy allows you to try two of the bottles, not 5.

Also in agreement on the 2012 glenlofty sv, the extra body sweetness and aromatics of the Viognier not to my taste, it's clearly a good sv though if that's your thing. Shame I missed out on straight Shiraz.

Missed out? Looks to me to be available right now - maybe you should have a look.

edit: I'm enjoying a Glenlofty Shiraz right now - I opened it about 8:30 this morning leaving the lid off and had my first glass about 4:30pm - sublime :)

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I'm no longer living in Aus was just checking in to see what i'm missing out on. I can't find anything like VM in the UK unfortunately and the Aus wine available is mostly big producer $10 cough. Looking forward to having better access to the Old World though.

Do you live in SA? Handcrafter by Hardy has a cellar door in Hahndorf...

No I'm on the Surf Coast in Vic. I've only been to SA once, but I'll have to keep it in mind as I'm sure to go there again. I'll put that nugget of info away though, cheers for the heads up hillsgirl:)

Any idea's re today's BLACK MARKET DEAL Barossa Shiraz 2013 @ $15 - down from $50?

Is that WHERE they get the idea of wine glass from chilts66??? :D

Now back to serious stuff, it's previously revealed as Lou Miranda Golden Lion (not by yours truly)

Apologies if I missed it in earlier posts, but anyone got any idea on the $50 -> $15 black market shiraz from yesterday's Secret Society email? https://vinomofo.com/deals/red-wine/black-market-deal-shiraz-2013-0e1c2edb

Rob72, no problems in asking however if you type "$50 -> $15 black market shiraz" into the search bar instead of all the above in a post you will find the answer in seconds - the first on the list takes you to the answer.

It's the Golden Lion

Lou Miranda Golden Lion Shiraz 2013 | 94ptsThis is pure, Barossa power from a great vintage. The yield was low, resulting in concentrated fruit bursting with flavour of ripe plums and dark blueberry with a spicy edge. The texture is soft and the finish long as you’d expect from estate grown fruit sourced from old vines - some pushing the 100 year old mark.
