Very short Cathay Pacific Transit at Hong Kong airport

I have a flight booking via Cathay travelling from MAD to MEL transit via Hong Kong , with a 50 mins layover. Am i crazy or is this something doable for a home hub ?
The other thing to remember is that as you are departing from the EU, EU261 applies.

So if the inbound is late and you miss your connection you may be entitled to €600. You’ll also be entitled, regardless of the reason for the delay, to accommodation and meals appropriate to the length of the delay.
