Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

I just opened up VA website in my browser to search for a flight, and it didnt provide me an option to choose Economy or Business.
The search results then displayed Economy and Business in the one results window together, both for $$ and points.

But then I modify the search and its back to having to select Economy or Business.
How can I get back to being able to display both search results together?

Not sure about everybody else, but I am seeing the time taken to credit (domestic) flights to my account now at 10 days....

Case in point, last months flights BNE/SYD/BNE took 10 days yet BP and Amex transactions are within 2 days:

Now up to 7 day from an outbound BNE/NTL flight (plus family pooling to credit as well) - nothing showing.

QF can post within hours of flight (as they did on a recent BNE/ADL and BNE/CBR flights), or at latest a couple of days for all other transactions.

Glad I've re-qualified VA Gold already 4 months early - now to head back to the Red Roo and hasten my way towards Lifetime Gold.

Yep same here - VA domestic flights on 27th May still not credited on the 2nd June, have claimed online now and will see how soon they turn up....

Yes, just followed suit and lodged retro claims for both my wifes' flights and mine. Now to see if they show up in another 3- 7 days, or the original flight transactions decide to post (this weekend)...any bets?

Here I was thinking you were already a QF LTG!

I suppose VA are thinking that except for select cases, no one is in that much of a hurry for those points so as long as they get there, all good.

I assume that the activity date still holds for when the points finally arrive, e.g. important for those taking advantage of the fact that status credits each last 12 months, for the purposes of qualification.

Yes they do refer to the activity date for this, however the blindingly obvious thing with this whole website / app rubbish is the amount of time members spend on checking their account, following up on points and SC and calling the call centre to try an have things resolved.

Even my step up from Gold to Plat had to be followed up and manually done, my wife's step up from Silver to Gold had to be followed up. They cannot even deliver what they advertise... so much for the daily review and auto upgrade.

Anyone else getting this?

A new one (for me at least): booking a $145 fare BNE-MEL and a $135 fare MEL-BNE and down the bottom right corner, the total fare is... $290.

Now I'm no Lily Serna but when I went to school 145+135=280 :(

I couldn't complete the booking after an hour anyway - after all the refreshing pages that didn't load properly, clicking through to the payment page took me to a "You have successfully logged out" page each time instead!

Thanks for the morning chuckle! What a joke.

So I emailed some screenshots and was emailed this morning with the usual 'go away' proforma, telling me that everything was functioning perfectly because the fares on the website are exclusive of taxes and surcharges and the total price is only shown on the final page :(

If I was running VA and I heard that I'd be rather pissed. Perhaps the support team actually believes their website functions well? Wow

Just for ****s and giggles I just then tried a standard MEL-SYD-MEL

MEL - SYD = $203.01

SYD - MEL = $203.01

Total to pay = $406.02 - Inclusive of $75.29 worth of taxes/airline surcharges.

Did you double check the breakdown on the right hand column (the one that shows all your selected options so far and prices) where the "extra" $10 is coming from?

It can't be the credit card surcharge because that is not added until the end when you give payment. It also can't be any extras like travel insurance (which they can't do automatically anyway because they were ripped into by the ACCC for such practices).

I would have said rounding error but a discrepancy of $10 is far from a simple rounding error.

Pricing can't be exclusive of taxes, fees and surcharges in Australia - they have to show the full amount you need to pay. Whoever told you otherwise at Virgin is pulling your leg and deserves to be shot.

The extra $10 was seemingly coming from nowhere. I don't have ExpertFlyer so I couldn't confirm it myself but I called the Platinum desk and they couldn't see any $135 fares on that flight, just $145 fares, and two $145 fares would indeed give you a total of $290.

The website was appalling on Saturday morning (even if you managed to select fares, it couldn't load the passenger details page and would instead take you to a 'You have successfully logged out' page) so the agent on the phone suggested - and it sounds plausible enough - that displaying the flight price and displaying the total price might be different processes so while the website wasn't displaying the correct price for individual flights, it could at least calculate the 'correct' total price down the bottom right of the screen.

I went and checked and I've made 28 separate bookings with VA this year all using their -ahem- unique website. I'm sure there are lots of people who have made more than that but I think that it at least qualifies me to know how the prices are displayed and to be told 'you're wrong, it works like this' and then be told rubbish is incredibly infuriating.

What you've seen is not new. VA have had that problem for a long time (years), but I must admit that I thought they had "fixed" their adding errors. Obviously not. I have no idea which thread discussed this topic some time ago, but IIRC it was medhead who first raised it as an issue.

Virgin Australia booking on Air New Zealand plane, even in 2017, seating choices cannot be made at booking.
Did the same thing in about 2014/2015, thought things would have improved by now, BUT... nope.
Have to do seating choice at check in, by then my preferred window seat would have gone, on that 787.
Just that I had some Velocity points I wanted to use up, other wise I would have gone direct to Air New Zealand website and made the booking direct, foregoing any advantage, just so that I can my preferred seat.
Made booking yesterday, on the VFF website, (thought Air New Zealand could help with seat choices, but told I needed an Air New Zealand PNR-when I looked, my VFF booking didn't show the Air New Zealand PNR), when I phone up, but nope.
Only good thing about the VFF system is the tie in with Flybuys and earning bonus VFF points and the SC.
Other than that, QFF still is on top in my books.

my bold....

the only good thing about the VFF system is earning bonus VFF points and the SC earn on fares that should not earn.

VFF please do not fix this
