The SQ Lounge is cough. QF SIN lounge is superior. If there are delays, which one would you rather be in?
Honestly? I wouldn't want to spend too long in an overseas Qantas lounge especially if families are travelling. It is literally a zoo.

I'm transiting Singapore (T3) in two weeks flying whY as VA Gold and am tossing up whether to use the KrisFlyer lounge or make use of my Priority Pass to access the SATS/dnata lounges. Any thoughts?

Stick your head in the SQ lounge first. Its free to do so - unless you arrive at a time its packed to the rafters or you are desperate for a shower, its perfectly acceptable.

If it is literally a zoo, then unfortunately I think you have accessed the wrong place.

Having access to a shower is a big deal given the heat in Singapore and the significant portion of long haul connecting traffic. Especially in their own hub... Bit of an up yours from SQ to status pax

Anyway, just visited the SQ Gold lounge in T2 and T3 Changi. Miles behind the QF lounge in terms of F&B variety and quality, no internal toilets, no showers, and several degrees warmer than the rest of the terminal. I ended up paying $16 at the Ambassador lounge for a shower.

Felt like a B grade regional lounge, really poor for a major carrier in their own hub.

Thread revival. SQ Gold lounge in T3 at least, now has a permanent dim sum bar in the outer seating area. Started this month. Little consolation, but it gave me some joy (no tears) after slugging it out in 48H middle seat from HND on the A350

The KFG lounge is awful, it’s insulting really. I wish VA could arrange something with the SATS lounge a couple of doors down.

Get an Amex Platinum Charge and you can (or another Priority Pass enabled card)...

Every time I've been there the water in the fridge is luke warm! The wine is also cheap and nasty.

It's about the same price for access to the swimming pool, which has showers.
Despite having access to the SilverKris lounge last time I was there I paid to use the pool - and had my shower there.
Considering how many people transit changi I was amazed how quiet the pool was.

While I do like the SilverKris Lounge in SIN, the Gold one is perfectly adequate. There are comfortable seats, you're out of the throngs of people in the terminal, food and drink are available (admittedly the food is not awesome but it does) and you can charge your phone etc

Toilets are in close proximity - probably just as a close as walking one end of a lounge to the other.

Showers - if I really want one then I go to the Transit Lounge and pay for one and take a lot longer than I would with a lounge shower.

I don't see the fault being with VA but rather SQ - they would be the one saying no to allowing access I'd guess (when you compare it to having access to First Lounge with EY in AUH).

I suppose the quality of the lounges is at the discretion of the providing airline so my comment is less about the lounge itself and more about the access.

My wife was today refused access to a lounge at Heathrow by Delta. She was travelling on a Virgin Atlantic ticket but flying on a Delta codeshare. So what is the rule on airport lounge. Obviously it's impossible to contact Velocity at the time to sort it out so it's easier to walk away and grumble

Delta don’t operate a lounge at LHR, that’s why she was refused access.
