Vale AFF member - Penegal

Not a reason I wanted to travel to Melbourne, but it was nice to catch with others from AFF and other social groups to celebrate the life of Mark. The service was personally hard to deal with and I am sure there were many others dealing with it in their own way. The dinner was was a nice and I am sure Mark would have approved of it. @Fergo747 ensured there was an appropriate toast to Mark. I also had the opportunity to meet and talk with a few that were just Mark's friends as they had mentioned they were not in the flyer groups.

Sorry I missed this event, would have loved to have been there but am away o/s at the moment; maybe we need to organize a proper "wake" event sometime soon?
There are others on AFF who could not attend as they were also o/s, 'no names no pack drill'. I had spoken with another around a week before the service and was advised something will most likely arranged at an appropriate time. Some will most likely be able to work out who I had that discussion with.

Being overseas now, I'd be very interested in that.

I think there will be an ongoing number of events for @penegal .
One being set up here: (Aug 14th Friday or 20th Thursday)

I attended the service and then the dinner afterwards before flying home Tuesday night.

Still feeling sad, I think rewatching the service online was probably worse.

The Ayers Rock photo was used during the service along with a lot of other photos, and i thought my photo might one day be used at a funeral just not Marks.

First time I met Mark was when i flew to Melbourne via Sydney, seems like wine, food and travel was part of Marks life and that is how the day unfolded for me.

Mark was always cagey about his age but his wisdom, understanding and intelligence made you think that he was older than he really was,

I shared a bottle or two with @QF WP at dinner on Tuesday night.

One thing that came out is that @penegal family didn't have access to any passwords or pin numbers to his phone or computer, so hopefully we all think about assisting our family if the worse were to happen, write down those important details and put them in an envelope might just save your Qantas points going to waste.

This took me a while to write and try and get the right words onto paper.
