Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Had my 2nd Pfizer at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne 24 hrs ago.

Had booked the appointment online a couple of weeks ago (I already had one elsewhere but the Alfred is walking distance from home so changed it).

Zero wait to enter the clinic. Sitting in the vaccination cubicle within about 2 mins of entering. So jabbed and out within about 20 mins of arriving.

So far zero side effects...much like dose 1. I just realised no Chupa Chup this time....so I should have stuck with my original appointment at Austin Health!

Had my first Pfizer dose yesterday at the Health Campus adjacent to our local (regional) hospital.

Booked via the Roll Up For WA website when WA opened up availability for the 40-49 age group in early June. Quite a simple process to do online & confirmation received via email. I delayed mine a few weeks as I had the flu jab in early June.

Process at hospital ran smoothly, check in, some more admin & online questions then the injection, 15min wait, book next appointment on the way out & all done from start to finish in about half an hour. There was a few people there the whole time but not large queues.

Sore arm at injection site the only side effect so far & the notation of vaccination was uploaded to MyGov soon after.

Appears to be quite a few clinics operating in Regional WA during June & July.

Hold an MSIC through work & around early June all holders became eligible for vaccination. A few colleagues have gone through that procedure & said it was quite easy as well. Only difference being these were being administered at a local medical practice. Apparently was very busy on the weekend.

I had my first AZ last Thursday 24 June but it’s not showing on my Medicare immunisation record. It says it will only appear after both shots have been completed. Is that what’s happening for others?

My first AZ vaccination is showing in my Medicare record and the date set for my second. I'm not sure when it arrived, as I didn't think to look for it for a few weeks.

That's unusual. My first AZ shot appeared in my Medicare immunisation record a couple of days after the jab. It would be up to where you got the jab to update the Medicare system.

No. First one appeared on the record in a day or so. After the second, you also get a separate digital certificate of covid vaccination. I'd prompt the place where you got the injection to check their data links, uploads etc.

Both my shots appeared after 1 day of each dose.
Definitely follow up if it hasn't been registered after a week or so.

The clinic musr upload within a fairly short period of time. It does sound like your record has received some advice though if it mentions the second? Are you looking in the PDF that can be created that lists all your immunisations?

Hubby's took 5 days. I'd leave it until after the weekend and then chase it up.

I had my second AZ jab yesterday, 12 weeks to the day after the first. 23 hours later, no ill effects. No headaches, no tiredness. No "heavy arm" like I had last time. Just slightly uncomfortable at the jab site, consistent with someone having stuck a needle in my arm!

The one bit which was a pain was nothing to do the jab. The plan had been to make a minor detour to Ballina for the jab en route to Byron for a few days before heading into Queensland. On Monday we cancelled the Byron plans to get into Queensland early in case AP closed the border. Then on Tuesday we cancelled the booking we'd made on Monday due to the Queensland lockdown. Which meant a 75 min run each way to Ballina and back. And when we got to Ballina it turned out they were taking walk-ins, so I could just have left it a few days until our original plan is back on. Oh well, all done now. Until the booster!

The advice about updated after both doses is just generic in the Medicare express app. And yes thanks I was looking in the PDF.

Had first dose of Pfizer at Olympic Park today, whole process was calm, orderly and super efficient.

I was about 30 mins early, as due to WFH and fog there was virtually no traffic, joined the correct queue (they had Marshalls coming along double checking your booking number started with the correct letter combo for the date and time).

At exactly 9am they started letting our line enter. First stop a tent where they scan your QR code and give you a sticker which determines which hall you go into and another QR slip with your jab number. Enter the hall, take a seat and watch the monitors till your number comes up (took about 5 mins) and then go to the desk number it assigns you. Photo ID and Medicare card check, a few questions, given the jab, a reminder of your 2nd jab date and then over to the observation areas for 15 mins, then free to go.

No lollipops, but as were masked the whole time wouldn't have been able to eat one anyway.

Was out by 9:30am.

No ill effects so far.

Second Pfizer at Gosford hospital Tuesday morning, appointment 7.15am, administered at 7.23am - I had arrived around 7am. Fairly long queues but efficient process, both appointments booked at the same time, three weeks apart, I am in the 40-49 age group and registered my interested early once that was possible.

No side effects really, other than a severe headache last night, so maybe 36 hours after the vaccination. Friends of similar age reported having to take a day off after the second dose, nothing of that sort for me.

At 9.31am the same day, so a bit more than two hours after the fact, I got an email stating 'Your COVID-19 vaccination status is available to view and it was in the myGov account.', and indeed the certificate was there already.

I forgot to add - a couple of hours after getting my 2nd AZ jab, 12 weeks after my first, I got a text from my GP telling me I was eligible for the Pfizer jab!

No. Both AZ jabs appeared on my Medicare record within 24hours. One was on the same day. The other I hadn’t checked until next day.

Maybe your Clinic is a bit tardy in uploading.

Had my second Pfizer jab this morning. Got there early before opening at 8.45 and there was already a queue, some people had brought camping stools! Doors opened at 9, I had my jab at 9.15 and was out the door at 9.30.

At 10 I got a myGov email, which I haven't looked at. Presumably it's to tell me that my Medicare record has been updated.

Feeling tired now and my shoulder feels a bit numb.
