I'm certainly not a regular J flyer although it is what I save up my points for. So this will be my 2nd international J trip on VA and my first flight of any kind on delta. I'm pretty excited and thanks to everyone for the congrats.. I really can't wait!

Finally back in front of a machine, although I did see the news as I was boarding a flight to Perth. Congratulations 777 we look forward to hearing all about the trip. Priority baggage was my thing too, a worthy choice.

I managed to do a reward upgrade and flew 'J' for the first time ever to Perth. It was fantastic.

Also sincere thank you to Virgin Australia. I am actually amazed with the amount of social interactions VA has on AFF. QF is catching up but really VA leads the pack by miles.

OT, I flew SYD-ADL return on DJ over the weekend, got ourselves 3A/B for both flights as Gold, and both flights are PE seats! Fantastic!

Well a quick update...

I'm booked and ready to go. We had some slightly hilarious missing emails between VA and I along the way but we're now all booked now and ready to go. Will be flying out of MEL on the 3rd of March and back 3 weeks later. Can't wait and you'll be hearing about whether you like it or not!

A timely push on this post perhaps, as I'm a bit bemused at the moment that the very issue you won this competition for -- priority baggage -- is failing miserably for me lately. Virgin needs to do something about its ground handling contractors at multiple airports, as, even with Priority tags, it has meant absolutely nothing for me for getting my bags early at all in my recent flights. I waited over 25 minutes last night at SYD, and my bag came out nowhere near the beginning.

Well, have a great trip and look forward to reading the trip report.

Leaving on VA11 from MEL in about 4 hours. My thanks again to the Virgin Australia team, Dean in particular and everyone at AFF.
