folks, we have a few spare seats on our inaugural flight departing Sydney at 15:00 on 27 February. Not worth advertising so I suggested we just load the fares into the system at special rates and "tip off" interested parties such as family, friends and AFF members on where to look. How often have you been on the first flight of a new airline? I promise with Richard Branson, media and celebrities on board it will be a unique experience. It's from $888 return from Sydney to Los Angeles with minimum 5 days stay.

Great offer; I would take it up but as I'm already booked to travel to LAX the week after I need to give it a miss. :-|

Thank you very much Dave for the offer ...

Yes I add my thanks to Dave for the offer, would be very tempting ... but already travelling for work around that time.

Thanks for the tip off. Unfotunately I won't be able to benefit from it, but hopefully some others will, and can report back and let us know all about it :)

CrazyDave thanks for posting that up - a great deal for AFF and good for VA to (having enthusiastic customers on flight #1).

Cant take up the offer unfortunately much as I would like too.

Having a look just now still some there @ $891. Bummer (for me).

CrazyDave - is it somewhat surprising that your first flight would not be sold out by this stage?

Good stuff Crazydave. I put in a dummy booking and got a return including the inaugral flight for $891 return. Gotta work on Mrs Batesy but don't like my chances.

No, we always keep very large blocks of seats on inaugural flights for promotional purposes. In this case, given the economic climate and our announcements of the past few days that we are taking down 5 lines of flying and there is a prospect we may have to make people redundant for the first time in our history, we decided to scale back celebrations.
cheers

Ah, thanks for clarifying - makers sense.

Great deal for those who can go!

:(

no use to me - although a great deal for someone who can use it

I'd be tempted to go just for the experience, if I thought I could actually get the time off

its great to see this on the AFF boards though - thanks!

Very nice offer CrazyDave98.

Good luck to those able to take advantage of the offer....

YUPP's lol

Get the shuttle to ONT, fly to TPA, have a few days in Florida and fly back. For around $US850 earn up to 480 SCs

Fly from LAX to SFO for a little under $US200 r/t, have a couple of nights there then fly up to PDX for a couple more. For $US520 earn up to 300 SCs plus another 20 for SFO-LAX-SFO.

From SFO go to LAS for a couple of nights and earn 240 SCs for just over $US400.

Or many more.

Very tempting!

Hmm I could be interested;

what to do for 5 days, any suggestions anyone.
Pop down to San Diego for a few days visiting companies that work in the same industry as you (I assume there are some there) and it becomes a business trip for tax purposes - at least part of it does, depending on how much time you spend working vs holidaying.
