Well, as I have just told you where the basis of my comments are from - then I would have to say, yes. Myself.Does anyone actually believe that Skytrax has credibility :?:

OK we'll agree to disagree :!:Well, as I have just told you where the basis of my comments are from - then I would have to say, yes. Myself.
Interesting that the article says they will worry about that later and that sorting out the issues and helping customers is the first priority :!: :shock:I'm guessing V Australia will be hitting Boeing for some of the costs of the delay.
I have booked to depart on the 2nd of Feb - so I guess I have to wait until they contact me. I deliberately booked a month or two after the launch, expecting a few problems.
I'm just hoping its not with United. I would prefer the boat trip over United . . .

Maybe forward bookings weren't as high as forecast (this close to December), so there might be a silver lining in the clouds?...while someone goes off and reads the contract with booing.
I've asked to be put on to QF if at all possible
Does anyone actually believe that Skytrax has credibility :?:
I am booked early Feb 09 and fingers cross that they may send up on Hawaiian Airlines Hope may get a stop over in Hawaii Woo Hoo or Alternatively Fly Qantas on a Airbus 380
I think I will be lucky and miss the United Boat as United will only be flying extra flights to USA from Australia until 31 Jan 2008
Best of luck to all

According to this New York Times article, a tentative agreement was reached Monday night between Boeing and the union and is to be recommended to members in the next few days.
The Boeing guys i was with in San Francisco last week were a little circumspect, but supportive that the strike may be resolved. It was not helping anybody, as the workers clearly know long term there is little choice to keep the busines going (unless they want to move to Brasil or China). The buffer they had with Airbus difficulties has been quickly eroded - and have issues enough with certification / acceptance of the Dreamliner and the forthcoming 747-800.
We were notified today that the union and Boeing have reached an agreement (subject to ratification) which we're very happy about, but will take a short while to work out when each aircraft will now come off the production line. Stay tuned on confirmation of dates of inaugural V Australia flight (although I hasten to add that I cannot give any information here that is not being otherwise made public sorry).
