Hello,

Planning to fly a US domestic flight to LAX in the evening, then back again on the following afternoon. If I check-in online for the return flight when I get off the 1st flight, could I head on over to the 1st class lounge for dinner as QF WP? My reading of rules is "next onward flight..." should mean my boarding pass for the following day should grant access? I don't see anything requiring it to be on the same day.

Wondering if anybody has had actual success in similar scenario?

Thanks.

I dont think you will be allowed in.

Lounge access - over 600 lounges , multi destination flights
"First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa). "

While it does say First & Business i dont think WP status will change the 6am requirement.
Are you in transit or on a different booking? either way i dont think its allowed.

What airline are you on for the domestic flight?

Same booking, but not transit. Just staying overnight in LAX such that the arrival flight arrives within 24 hrs of departure of return flight.

Looks like you are correct on the basis of oneworld rules.

I was looking at the Qantas website: (Lounge Locations | North America | Los Angeles International Airport Tom Bradley Terminal | International First) which simply states "Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight.#".

Would still be keen to know if anybody has had actual success with this on the basis of Qantas entry criteria?

What airline are you on for the domestic flight?

American airlines.

As a Qantas Plat, you have access when traveling on an AA domestic flight anyway.

No, I get that. What I was asking was whether I can use the lounge after my first flight using the boarding pass for the return flight the following day.

I really doubt it.

Qantas rules do not apply - it's oneworld rules due to mixed carrier.

Only way would have been for your next day AA flight to have been departing prior to 6am.
