Use of the iPhone app

Mine keeps turning on and defaulting back to the original signature.

We actually talked about the app at the mods meeting last night and how well it is going :!:

I turned the signature off on mine and have not had any issues

No problems about killing signatures with the multi-platform tapitalk app.

(Although I did lose my 'wing and prayer' on the reinstall - I'll have to redefine it.)

I have turned my signature off and it appears to have worked thus far.

To remove any doubt, I turned my signature off yesterday and made a number of posts that appeared without it. On that basis I made the quoted post and then had to edit it once I read it.

[-]No signature for me[/-] I take that back. But I tried changing it and that did not work.

Interesting that this is happening to some and not to others.

I've opened and closed the app and turned the phone off and back on and the signature has stayed off.

The new version does not crash when I'm connected to our corporate wifi (which has proxy authentication).

Haven't posted yet so can't comment on signatures

Anyone having any problems with the iPhone app logging out? Before I upgraded to the latest version, no issues, but now it keeps logging me out when I am trying to read threads using the app.

I am looking into the Signature issue. Have turned my signature off in both iPhone and Android Apps. So far it seems to be working in that the Sig remains disabled even after I shut down and reopen the Apps. Best to wait 24 hours before jumping to any conclusion because I know there are values resets each day.

It is now more than 24 hours since I turned off my signature and it seems to have retained the setting and is not defaulting when I try post from both the iPhone and Android App. Please let me know if the issue persists.

OK, I have now disabled the Signature for the App. It might need 24 hours to filter through. So, if this is an issue for you, please wait a day or so, uninstall the App and then download it again. The Signature should then be disabled by default. Hope this works - there are so many layers: our server, the Tapatalk server, your device etc, so I can't be 100% certain.

Still a problem for me (on both iPhone and iPad), will retain setting until I remove the program completely from memory or power the iDevice off and on again.

I am looking into the Signature issue. Have turned my signature off in both iPhone and Android Apps. Since installing the iPhone App, I cannot log in at all.

I can read / follow all posts but cannot reply / comment.

Error Message is "The user group you belong to does not have permission to log in. Please contact admin"

I used the same log in / PW for the website for the iPhone APP.

What should / could I do now ?

While anyone can download the APP and use it to browse AFF for free, only our GOLD and SILVER members can log into AFF using the App. See The Australian Frequent Flyer - Member Benefits. As this is no different to the previous version, I am puzzled why you could log in before

The message you are receiving is correct - Regular members do not have permission to login with the App. Regular members can, of course, login via a web browser.

Sorry if my post was not clear.

I had not yet been successful in logging in at all using the iPhone.

I was not aware of the GOLD - SILVER restriction.
