Upcoming points earn cut?

I am paying half fee this year after a few fee free years.
It was that or cancel.
Of course that was just a few months ago and now for sure the card is for the chop.
I even read the t&c to see if they had to refund the fee if they changed the contract.. but , of course, it says naught.
I assume that I could kick up a fuss and try to force them to refund but it's just not worth the angst.
 
Just cancelled mine. No offer of a discounted annual fee but instead 2000 QFF points.

Did laugh when they said they were constantly looking to improve the card benefits for customers. How about not killing the earn rate for starters!

Had the card since 2012 but once what was quite a good card has been devalued so much I couldn't justify keeping it.

The 5% negation is not my experience. If you swipe your WOW rewards card, but pay with WOW e-gift cards purcashed from Cash Rewards etc, you still get the 10% off.

Try it this weekend.

Just read this message now. Drat, din't realize that was the case - I thought you had to pay with the Credit card (which of course swipes your rewards at the same time).

I'll try it next month.

I don't use mine that often, but I'll cancel it before it's due for renewal.
 
Received an email survey asking why I cancelled the card. Actually filled it out for once.

When I receive my survey, I'm going to recommend they sack the person responsible for the points cut (a pointer to others who also take the time to fill out the survey).
 
$50 saved each month x 12 months = $600 saved per year.

I understand that this latest enhancement make the card uncompetitive in terms of points earned per dollar spent, but can't understand why you are all rushing to cancel (unless your annual fee is more than $600).

1. Keep the card.
2. Never use it.
3. Save $50 every month on one visit to woolies.
4. Profit.

I can't remember the last time I spent $500 in Woolworths. In fact, I don't think I ever have.
Even getting over $100 us unusual.....
 
I just filled out my customer feedback survey.

I cancelled mine today.
I rang and asked for the $169 annual fee to be waived, as the points earning drop will make the card too uncompetitive to retain with that fee.
I was told that the annual fee can’t be dropped, and she offered me 1000 Qantas points to stay. 1000 points!
And I’ve filled out their “Why did you leave us” survey too.

GE Money? I thought it was with Macquarie.
 
Another one bites the dust but I guess that just gives more substance to the "it's better to churn" theory.
