Card received mid last week...still awaiting further info on how to access net banking for the card though.

Just forwarded the email that I received with the application links on it - she said she wouldn't mind having a crack at it, especially if it's for 20,000 points after a mere $500.

Mum was just offered an upgrade to a Diamond credit card from the Commonwealth Bank the other day, completely free and unconditional (i.e. the bank just sent her the new cards straight up; her existing Platinum credit card was also fees free). My mum is the queen at negotiating fee free credit cards (all of her credit cards do not have any annual fees on them, even if they have gazetted annual fees).

There's something from each end of the spectrum with this application! Some who just got the card no questions asked, and some who can't get rid of the questions. Can't wait to find out where I am on the bell curve :)

At this point I'll just be happy with a response one way or another - I haven't heard anything since I received an SMS on the 22nd of Feb to supply pay slip details (which were duly sent through).

Can someone tell me where I can find more information travel insurance that comes with the card. In item 6 of the fine print is says:
This insurance cover is subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions contained in Part 2 of the Jetstar Platinum MasterCard Conditions of Use document and may be amended from time to time.
This is all good and well, but where is Part 2 Conditions of Use document?

Same old story for me, income several times above the stated minimum, small existing credit card limit (I transact mainly with Amex charge cards), rejected.

I received my card today, and included was a white booklet "Conditions of Use' which covers all the details about the insurance. Maybe give them a call if it wasn't included in your mailout.

I applied last night and received an SMS asking for payslip this afternoon, so less than 24 hours.

So, have people who were requested to send in a pay slip been approved? My pay slip tells them nothing additional to what was contained in my application (other than confirming it).

Ok for those who are waiting - can't remember when I applied for the card but faxed my payslip on 27/2 - two letters today - my password for internet banking and the card. Rang to activate - lady did not speak english as first language but easy to understand - went through which program I wanted to go with (QFF) - gave me my access code for internet banking - told me to sign the card - confirmed I didn't have any transfers to process and call over.

1 - I am not self employed and have been working for same employer for 13 yrs
2 - Income in the $80,000 to $90,000 range
3 - I am a single parent
4 - no debt other then mortgage that is less then 1/2 the value of my house

Pay slip request 27/2
payslip sent 28/2 via email

Not sure how things work here as some got rejected and others got approved.

This is almost a carbon copy for me, except i asked for $7500 (which i recieved) and emailed payslips on 29/2.

Was a little curious if id get it or not as have just transferred my home loan and with that comes a mandatory credit card (ANZ break-free package) = plenty of credit reference activity in the past two weeks.

Without requesting those that have been approved to publicly disclose their current credit/income situation , I think that you might be on the money there given my subequent experience. Interesting strategy if so, they must really believe they have credit risk assessment down to a fine art!

Must be some interesting "credit criteria" they have! Considering my stated income was nearly 6 times the minimum income required to get the card, and my incomings far exceed my outgoings.

I wonder if I didn't get it because I earn too much, and therefore the chances of them making any profit out of their crazy interest rates is too low?

In contrast, I had no problem applying for and being approved for the Amex Plat Charge Card which has a minimum income 3.3 times that of this card.

Applied.

Probably won't get it because my 'Time at current job' is 1 month... I obviously don't have a payslip to send in..... and, it would be a mess anyway, given the fact that I have been there less than 1 month, and it's monthly pay, and my first pay will include signon/wardrobe bonuses......

But, then again:
I'm young
Income < $50k
Requesting a balance transfer of $2xx_.75, when my current CC limit is $3,000.
Have very few expenses.

So, that seems to be the sort of target that JetStar are going for?

At any rate, this seems the most likely way for me to get a 1:1 Platinum Visa/Mastercard, fee free for 12 months, with 20,000 sign on points.

My only other CC is a Big4Bank Amex/VISA combo.... and that Visa only gives 1:0.5..... so, I would probably actually use this card (but, probably only for 5 months (balance transfer period of 6 months + cancel after 11 months)).

Anyone got the link as I'm not seeing it on First page link anymore? Edit: Found it under credit cards!
What are the "eligible purchases" for the 20K points?

Well emailed application........Day 1.
No spot to put QFF No. in?

Any 'normal' purchases excludes balance transfers, cash advance, etc.

Incredible-I'm between jobs (Start new one in April) single with $8000 of credit card debt to GE and surviving on cash from sale of business towards end of last year
($68,000) but no regular income yet I applied and was approved with a limit of $11000,card arrived today,no payslip needed.
True I do own a house outright but I was sure they would turn me down based on income coming in (Which ATM in nill).
Weird.(Doubt I will use it much anyway)
Cheers
