Don't worry about the total points remaining. It is perfectly normal for this to remain unchanged for some time after you make an award booking.
Probably nothing to do with the website problems.

Thanks. Points now gone. Only need to talk to call centre about seat bookings. Dont know why I cant do it myself. My life wont be worth living if I cant get us sitting together in J.

If they're on separate bookings it will probably be to your advantage to let the call centre find your seats. They should also put a note on the bookings acknowledging that you are travelling together. This should help ensure you stay seated together if anything changes.

Thanks. Good advice. I'm still waiting on a call back to get seating together.

Do you get the option of selecting seats, or an aisle/window preference only?

I'd suggest that your flights haven't been fully ticketed yet.

I'm not clear about what "fully ticketed" means. I have an E-Ticket Itinerary & Receipt which has a ticket number and "Status" is confirmed. Is there something else I will get to show flights are fully ticketed or do I have it already?

Could be a gremlin as that would suggest it's not the ticketing that is the issue.

So from your comment I should be able to select seats in my bookings page? Does it make a difference it's an airline other than Qantas? (Cathay Pacific)

Have you tried using the Cathay website to select seats? That may be the issue if you are trying to use the Qantas site.

Just tried using both booking reference and e-ticket number - no luck. Registered as member as well and same result. I noticed the first 3 numbers of the Cathay e-ticket begin with 160 - and mine begin with 081 - so had no great hope there.

I decided to actually wait on the phone this time and after 1.5 hours I got someone. The cso was great and seated us together (despite separate tickets) on both legs and she linked the bookings for future changes. A long day but a good result.

Today was a good example of how a bit of good customer service can make all the difference. After anxiously waiting just for today to book some reward seats I found myself locked out of my account this morning when I tried to log in (later to be advised it was a system wide issue). I contacted the frequent flyer centre and explained the situation, they acknowledged the problem was at their end and immediately put me through to the international premium desk, with no waiting. Booking was made for me and put on hold, for exactly what I was after but could not be finalised as they could not access my account and points without my pin. I was asked if they could call back later today after the fault was fixed. I declined as I was at a conference all day so said I would call them when free and I knew the system was back up. Rang about 4:30pm, again no waiting, and finalised my booking in a couple of minutes. All sorted. Happy camper. Well done Qantas. A bit concerning that these glitches seem to be occurring more frequently though.

Nice to hear something positive

Oh for goodness sake, now what is Qantas doing. Everyone's bookings have disappeared! Master FM is flying from SFO in less than 24 hours and I went to his account to check something and there was no booking. Was really worried but then checked mine and Mr FM's accounts and all our booking have disappeared as well!

Same. My bookings have all disappeared from the web site.
However they are still showing through the iOS app.
So at least it is clearly a website portal glitch not a back-end booking system glitch.
Which is a great relief.

I had the same problem earlier today for ADL-PLO. The flight hasn't listed under My Bookings on the website for a couple of days (at least), but I didn't really think much of it. Tried to check in today at a kiosk using the PNR and subsequently my surname but the computer couldn't find the booking. The check-in desk lady couldn't find it either, and she even tried scanning in the bar-code on the PDF e-ticket. Eventually had to go to the Customer Service Desk and track it down via the full (10+ digit) e-ticket number. The Qantas system had apparently (arbitrarily) cancelled the booking so the CSR lady had to re-instate it manually. Took about 20 minutes! On that basis, get on to the CSR ASAP!

Thanks - I will check all of mine and let Master FM know. I am hoping it is just a general glitch, as my bookings were all there earlier today.
