Today was a good example of how a bit of good customer service can make all the difference. After anxiously just for today to book some reward seats I found myself locked out of my account this morning when I tried to log in (later to be advised it was a system wide issue). I contacted the frequent flyer centre and explained the situation, they acknowledged the problem was at their end and immediately put me through to the international premium desk, with no waiting. Booking was made for me and put on hold, for exactly what I was after but could not be finalised as they could not access my account and points without my pin. I was asked if they could call back later today after the fault was fixed. I declined as I was at a conference all day so said I would call them when free and I knew the system was back up. Rang about 4:30pm, again no waiting, and finalised my booking in a couple of minutes. All sorted. Happy camper. Well done Qantas. A bit concerning that these glitches seem to be occurring more frequently though.
