I'm slightly bemused as the problem I have. I have need for four of us to be in Brisbane for April next year. Plenty of warning, so thought I'd book some cheap flights. Put details into Jetstar search, reach the select flight times and I get;
"You don't have permission to access "http://booking.jetstar.com/au/en/booking/select-flights" on this server.
Reference #18.d834768.1542706058.1fbb513d"
Mucked about a bit without result so tried Web-chat. Agent asked problem. I described. Agent offered to book flights. I explained I'd prefer to book it myself as it was complicated. Agent insisted able to.
OK. Go through whole process. Four names, details. Bundles for one and not the others. Agent says OK book? I ask confirm price. Agent comes back with price way higher than online. I say no; why different? Agent says best book now, will only go higher. I ask why am I not able to book on line? Please address my original question. Agent says it is because I am using Firefox and I should use Chrome. I query why I should have to use a specific browser and why the prices offered are so different to online. Agent disconnects chat and gives me feedback window.
I must emphasise that at all stages I was totally polite. I do not blame live chat people for the organisation. I continue to not be able to book the flights I want. I've tried another PC, running Chrome. Same message. There's obviously something broken at the Jetstar end, but I'm interested as to why the agent was so keen to book the flights at a higher price, rather than address my problem. The happy to help, followed by abrupt hang-up, suggests to me web-chat people on commission?

Re-reading my rant, I realise I never really articulated my questions! Sorry, wasting an entire evening trying to book flights does that to me.
1. Has anyone else encountered this "don't have permission.."issue?
2. If so, what is the solution?
3. Are the Jetstar web-chat people on commission for sales?

I don't think you can book a bundled fare for 1 passenger and have the rest non bundled ...

You can add extra baggage on a passenger level ... but if you want 1 bundle passenger + 3 non it would be separate bookings as different sub fare class types

Yes, I know this. Normally in this circumstance we do two bookings. My daughter does the non-bundle and I do the bundle. That was why we really just wanted to be able to use the on-line booking as it was very complicated trying to do it through Web-chat.
I have now solved the first part of my problem as I found that by using my lap-top and hot spotting to my phone, I have managed to get around the "you do not have permission.." issue. It appears that going through our iinet NBN connection was causing it. Initially this didn't work as the phone was still connected to the house via wi-fi but once I turned off wi-fi and used the Telstra 4G connection I was able to book.

I often encounter a similar "you don't have permission" message when I mention to Mrs Gremlin that I'm thinking of booking us onto Jetstar. It's fair to say that they're not her favourite carrier.

I found that by clicking the URL in your post #1 I get that error (using Chrome).

By going from the link I posted, it goes to the same URL but I do not get the error.
Thanks, understand now. I tried doing a booking from your link but as soon as I click to select flight times, I get the same error. I'm thinking I need to find someone else using iinet wireless NBN and see if I get the same message on their connection. It appears impossible to book through our router.
Interestingly, when I used the laptop on 4G, I was still not able to complete the booking with Firefox. It came up with "An unknown error has occurred", when I went to to pay. I pursued that one through Web-chat also. Repeat of last night, with offers to do it for me and explanations that the price may be higher because of "first in pricing". Repeating the booking with Chrome worked correctly, at the original price.

I have had issues when trying to book when using Chrome, it just freezes. Not the same error message you got, it just looks like it's thinking and thinking but goes nowhere. I even left it for 10 minutes or so just out of curiosity.

I then logged in through Internet Explorer and have no issues.

I have just tried to book a Jetstar flight. It would not take any payment on any credit card at all. After waiting on the phone for 25 minutes to speak to someone I was told it was because I was using google chrome and I should instead use my phone!!!
Seriously??? Ridiculous- or perhaps fly Virgin

Seriously ridiculous, however I find it almost ridiculous enough to pose a CHALLENGE! Not, "have you booked Jetstar", more "can you book Jetstar"!

yeah. And often when you ring the agent wants to sell you the same seat but for a much higher price (and they will offer you a $50 jetstar voucher as 'compensation'). Don't fall for it!

Try booking again via you phone or tablet and the cheaper fare will be available.

I tried to change the date on a flight this week but the website wouldn't accept my credit card. I got on to Jetstar chat half expecting to be charged more but to my surprise I was charged $40 less than the website quoted me. I'm not sure how they calculated it but my ticket looks ok. I think chat is the way to go. Minimal wait time and lower risk of miscommunication.
