As the subject suggests, my promo code gives new Uber users A$20 off their first ride... just enter 8wz6d into the promotions box and you'll be all set!

If you're an existing user, it won't work I'm afraid! But, if you're new and haven't yet tried Uber, enjoy the discount!

Also, if you'll be in Brisbane over the next couple of weeks - it's free for everyone as it's just launched here... however, applying the promo code to your account now will give you an automatic $20 discount on your first ride once the charges kick in.

I never said it was 'special' – just that it gives $20 off the first ride, which you don't get as a new member unless you use a promo code...

Would you make that same comment in the American Express threads, where any eligible AMEX user can also refer a new customer (without being it being a 'special' referral)?

No, as a thread for Uber already exists, they could simply reply to the existing thread with their own promo code (as per admin's referral forum rules)...

Not sure whether this belongs into this thread, however there were a couple of guys handing out Uber flyers at Bondi Junction, after yesterday's City2Surf: promo code SYDFLY156 gives $40 off your first ride in Sydney. The only condition I could see, other than it having to be one's first ride, appears to be that this offer expires on August 31.

As thousands of flyers were handed out, I don't profit from this offer.

I'll jump on the band wagon - for some reason mine gives $30 credit I obviously spend too much with Uber (as well as use them in multiple countries in Europe, North America, Asia )

With $40 off (I got the offer) they'd be paying me $20 or more for the rides I had in Orlando last month. Prices were way low there.
