TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Anyone else into shows in regards to helping others / time travel?

Older shows I liked:

- Early Edition (cat delivers a newspaper each day).

- Quantum (spelling?) Leap: Guy always travelling into different peoples bodies & time zones.

- Sliders: Another travel through time show.

I never watched Early Edition but I was always curious about it.

I've watched every episode of Quantum Leap and it's one of my favourite shows.

I've watched most Sliders episodes but not in order. I would call Sliders adventures in Alternative Earths rather than Time Travel.

Some of the best episodes across from the Star Trek Universe (TOS, SNG, VOY, ENT) I have liked involved Time/dimension travel.

Yes, seen all of those shows as well. I also love time travel stories.

The strangest time travel story I ever saw was worked into an episode of Castle. This is supposed to be a crime/action TV show but there has always been a trace of science fiction woven through it.

I've seen every episode of Early Edition (should be on my old lappy which carked it a few years ago.)

Also agree about sliders.

Sliders didn't really get an offical ending before getting canned, IIRC? Quantum leap had a rushed final episode to end it. Rumours that Quantum leap might get a reboot or Movie one day.

Considering Nathan Fillian's earlier work in Firefly, it is not surprising.

Oh, Firefly was a great SciFi show that was cut before its time.

Yes, loved Firefly as well. I probably started watching Castle because I enjoyed Nathan's work in Firefly. Some of the creative team on Castle used to be involved in Star Trek behind the scene so it's not surprising they've introduced some of the recurring themes from sci-fi in the background of a few Castle episodes.

How about time tunnel ? 1960's Classic

Watching for the second time (episode 9/10 last night) Killing Time, an ABC show based on a true story about a Melbourne lawyer.
My PVR recorded the series a few years ago and I never got around to deleting it.

We're storing GoT for a bingefest so avoiding spoilers is paramount.

Mad Men is finishing for good on 18 May (USA) so that will be the end of an era (in both senses).

I see Spooks is on channel Nein now. Loved that series on ABC. You never knew if your favourite character was going to be alive at the end of the episode. How awful would it be to watch it with ads at the most inappropriate moments?

Just finished S3 of House of Cards and it was very good. Kevin Spacey really knows how to give me the creeps.
Another vote for Orphan Black. One of the best SF series I have seen, and Tatiana Maslany needs to win every acting award possible for her performances, absolutely jaw dropping. Especiallly when she is playing one character pretending to be another character that she also plays. Very, very good.
Newsroom was good but I'm glad it ended when it did, towards the end it was just Aaron Sorkin ranting on about whatever he wanted.

I watched the comedy silicon valley on a recent flight and thought that it was good, certainly good enough to entertain me a 35,000ft.

Walking dead is saved for binge watching while MrsAlien watches the Good Wife/Nashville/Grays Anatomy/Scandal.

GOT tonight though, and as a book reader whatever happens tonight will be a surprise for me as well. OT a nice little (and funny) summary of GOT can be found here (If Game of Thrones took place entirely on Facebook - The Season 5 Premiere. | GoT Recap Season 5 | Someecards) this one is for S05E01.

And it looks like Jon Snow is going to be in the Spooks movie, I always knew the MI5 knew nothing....

I found S3 of house of cards to be a bit disappointing, at least compared to the first 2 seasons.

Mrs Alien said the same thing. S3 was slower than S2, but I thought that this was justified given the diffence in seeking power (in S1 and S2) compared to retaining it. For me,
the way the series explored the failing of the relationships, and the extremes that people will go to was brilliant
