Trying to book seat selection using points

I’m trying to choose my seat using points and it comes up and tells me how many points, however every time I go to pay the website gives the dollar amount and asks for cc details. I’ve previously chosen a seat on the outbound leg using points so I’m not sure why it isn’t working. Any ideas?
