I noted that the Stamford Plaza in Sydney has notices everywhere that "1.5% is added to all credit card payments".

Fu****g disgusting.

Will not stay at any hotel that tries this cough. I encourage everyone to speak with their wallets and stay well away from these hotels.

I absolutely understanding your angry, I believe we are the last hotel industry to pass this kind of fee to the guest, 1.5% is the average rate after determine the overall surcharge. The stamford north ryde did not start surcharing the guest until the courtyard launched. But we do waive this kind of fee for our VIP guest. I suggest you could check if you are on the list which could be eligible to get the fee waived.
