Just wanted to let people know that on one of my recent citibank statements I noticed they had a travel insurance offer of 3 QFF points per dollar spent and 25% off.

They are resellers of the standard QBE policies, but comparing them with Qantas, STA, entertainment book and others they seem to offer the best prices, especially with the amount of bonus points.

I know other companies are cheaper, and I generally use TID for my travel needs, I required supp exam insurance which isn't explicitly covered in their PDs.

The link is Travel Voucher
and for my trip worked out at almost $100 cheaper than the entertainment book rate (418 vs. 330ish)

Thanks for the information.

As a guide;I would always compare with www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au before purchasing any other TI policy.

I thought I would throw in my two cents - I was put onto Toursafe Travel Insurance by a travel agent I used to book trips through (this would have been about 10 years ago). I now book most of my trips online rather than through a travel agent and have found an online agent that offers a 30% discount on the price (www.travelinsurancecover.com.au/toursafe/).

I have compared this to Travel Insurance Direct who are still cheaper, but the one claim I needed to make with Toursafe was settled quickly and this is worth paying a bit more for. This is not to say Travel Insurance Direct aren't prompt with paying claims, I just don't have any experience with them.

It is great to hear people having positive experiences from travel insurance related claims.

A few months ago I put in a delayed luggage claim, almost 1 year after the incident, to Travel Insurance Direct and I received the payment within 2 weeks of making the claim. Great service.
