Hi,

I have the American Express Qantas Platinum Card (the $395 yearly fee one). My parents are going overseas in one month. If I pay for their tickets with this card, will they automatically get travellers insurance ? I was told you get it automatically when buying tickets with this card.

Thanks,
Lukasz

AFAIK, 'tis travelling cardholder only (+ maybe accompanying immediate family members).

If I am correct, then NO.

I think serfty is correct. Read the terms & conditions you received with your card. They normally state that the insurance covers you (the cardholder) and family travelling with you. Seeing as though you are not travelling with your parents they are probably not covered by the insurance.

Yah, check with the pds.
But i know that they've changed the normal platinum credit card. Before it only included the main card holder and the card holders family (i.e dependents etc) but now it includes all supplementary card holders.

There is a Qantas Ulimate Card, and there is a Platinum Credit Card. WHich one is it? I am not sure that the policies are the same for each.

It is Qantas American Express Ultimate Card

I also have the Citibank Gold Master Card (fee free for life). Would that provide insurance if I were to pay for their tickets ?

Given that the Platinum Credit Card can have 99 supplementary card holders, does that mean you just have to get anyone a supplementary card and they will be covered by the card insurance?

Supplementary card holders are covered if the supplementary card is used for the purchase.
