Travel agent gone AWOL

From what I can see, the OP has had extensive, repeated contact with QF and provided them with a litany of attempts to communicate with the Travel Agent.

What is a customer expected to do at this point? I'm surprised there doesn't appear to be a process for this.

Obviously there needs to be some gatekeeping "hoops", but at this point you'd think a supervisor at QF could send the customer a link to make a "declaration" of some description, affirming that the customer has made all reasonable attempts to contact their agent over X weeks etc.

At this point, once the declaration is "signed" by the customer, then the booking would be released into the customer's direct control.

That's the sort of process I would expect. Instead it appears to be a black hole?
Well, yes, I completely agree, but it's Qantas, an airline (and not the most user friendly). Airlines are not generally noted for being helpful in cases such as this.

You really just have to find someone within that organisation who might be sympathetic They may not exist.

I have tried a directed message to TA via AFF with no response.
No response from QF either via second travel agent through their QF agency assist or direct email from me to QF x 3.
Bizarrely received 3 emails from TA this morning, one after the other, with e-tickets and receipts for 3 of the 5 flights (but not all of them).
Immediately called but still just goes to VM. Responded to emails within minutes but no further response.

Do the three flights you now have details for at least include the ones you need to cancel?

This is getting weirder by the day IMHO.

Would I be right in thinking there are some AFF Members here who do know madrooster personally? Or at least on an ongoing professional basis? And have they not reached out to him? And have not reported back? 🤷‍♂️

Did I read that said madrooster was going to present at a formal AFF function sometime in the future? Have AFF reached out to him? If they haven't I am staggered! 🤷‍♂️

He's been tagged in the thread several times and would be getting notifications for these - he has been on AFF since the thread started.

I'm also staggered we haven't heard anything from him given his standing within the community.

Yes we care all aware of this but it would appear he chooses not to respond. My staggerationment is that he has not been contacted directly by those that know him - or should know him - and have direct access to him.

It could be a device where he is logged in coming online, but not actually him using it.

I've experienced the same with some friends who stopped responding on social media but still appeared to be online. Reasons included auto refresh set up on the device, device stolen / account hacked, and family member using the device while my friend was ill but didn't know whether my friend wanted to tell people yet.
