Has anyone used the transit hotel at KLIA?

I am looking at booking flight from MEL-KUL arriving evening, then catching domestic flight to BKI in the following morning, and wondered if one can use the transit hotel with a intl-> domestic connection?

I used it a couple of years ago when I had an 8 hour layover. Much better than camping out in the lounge for that long.

It's just like a normal hotel except the minimum stay is 6 hours instead of one night. I can't see why having a domestic connection would matter - they wanted to see our passports when we checked in but not tickets/boarding passes.

Is your domestic flight with MH or AK? An AK flight will depart from the LCCT which is a bit of a hike from the main terminals so you'll need to factor in a bit of transfer time, plus you'll need to collect your baggage and recheck.

Thanks. I will be transferring MH->MH. Last time I flew through KUL (without stopover) was in 1998, and did a transfer from AN to a domestic MH flight. IIRC, bags were transferred directly to the domestic and I didn't see them until I got to PEN, not sure if that's still the case, but if it is then I assume all would be OK with transit hotel (i.e. no need to be concerned about bags being left on a carousel.

The other option of course is to take the midnight flight out of MEL instead of the 3pm flight and have a direct connection (but given it's in Y I'd rather pay for a transit hotel).

KLIA transit hotel is good, better IMHO than Singapore.

My wife and I stayed there earlier this year and found it very comfortable.
