flying per-hk-xx.
i would like to spend a few days in hk instead of a few hours transit ( as in the booking site at cx)
can this be done ?
and if so, how to do this ?
thank you !

Hi DFS, welcome to AFF.

Try clicking on the "Multi-city/Stopover" button on the CX home page.

Yes, select the multicity/stopover option. You can then set the different legs by date. Just be aware that CX tends to fill the first city for the next leg as you go down your list, and sometimes you need to delete the "From" city in the section after your final leg before hitting the search button.

P.S. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to AFF DFS.

Multi-City/Stopover should do the trick but there have been times where I have tried using that option and the specials disappear and pricing full J instead.

Thanks everyone.
Sorry, I wasnt clearer. I was trying to redeem award miles from Per to XX. Since it stopped over in HKG, I was hoping to get a few days in HKG instead of a few hours.
Is this possible ?
There seems to be only 2 ways of booking award miles from the CX website. Its one way or round trip.
Thanks for your help !

It depends on the FF T&Cs. I think Asia Miles allow stopovers, but I had the idea that QANTAS does not, and that any 'transit" had to be less than 24hours. I am sure a real expert will pop up shortly to advise.

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction :D

Anyone here has managed to book stopovers through the cx website utilising awards ? or best to call cs ?

You could perhaps book the destinations as different return flights?

So
Perth <> HK and then
HK <> XX?

as two different flights on the dates that you want?

I've done that a couple of times and there's no difference in the number of points required. Thats how Asia Miles calculates the number of points required anyway.
The only thing i had to do was to tell them to check my bags all the way through on my return leg (didnt need to do that on the way there because I wanted to stay in hk for a few days and hence needed my luggage).

The one good thing about having separate flights is that if I have so much fun in HK and decide not to go to XX, then I can just not board and forfeit the HK<> XX flight without them cancelling my other return HK flight.

You have to book them separately.. That's what i did for my trip in May.. MEL-HKG and then HKG-LHR. Same point cost..

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
