I think the context when people are making disparaging comments about the NP "salad" is the small side-salad bowl of a couple salad leaves that generally accompany international (and perhaps trans-continental) flights. It's fairly pitiful.
I don't mind that salad either, it's an ok size to match the meal, during the limited times they actually serve a meal.

No one complains about the size, it's the ingredients. Only leaves. No tomato, onion, capsicum or anything else with flavour.

I’ve probably said this before, but I see it as a garnish, and not a salad, regardless of what it may be called.

isn't there a balsmic and vinger dressing plus salt and pepper? Well pretty sure there is on international. That's all I need.

No loss seeing Perry go.
His concoctions in the J cabin are too often too upmarket for me.

This is a criticism one could make generally of much airline food in J, not just QF's.

In the race to be exciting, sometimes pretension rules. I may not have the refined tastes of some, but I enjoy nicely presented fairly basic 'safe' food to which I am used, not some garish creation lacking substance.

This would not be the substance of my dissatisfaction with the food in J on QF.
In fact my biggest dissatisfaction is that they advertise the cheese plate as something you can have anytime, but they never load enough!

I am not sure if it it time to finger Neil Perry for the blame. He sold out to Quadrant private equity group in October 2016.The article only gives 2017 as the time this practice was noted.I think the finger is pointing towards someone else than Neil Perry as the instigator of these deceptions.
A pity as NP's menus are one of the reasons we have deserted QFi.

I have no doubt it was practiced during his tenure and laid the base for their normal processes:

"The latest serious allegations follow a 2018 investigation by The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald that revealed the systemic underpayment of wages at the restaurant group, which is part-owned by celebrated chef Neil Perry.
The investigation uncovered evidence that permanent chefs at Rockpool were required to do excessive unpaid overtime, a practice going back many years.
That practice pushed wages well below the minimum rates of the award, the wages safety net. Staff were being paid for 38 hours a week while regularly working 20 to 30 hours of unpaid overtime.
The Ombudsman has since launched an investigation into Rockpool Dining Group and the company has paid back $1.6 million for one year’s underpayment. Rockpool has since extended those repayments stretching back a further five years but has not detailed the total cost.

Rampant 'exploitation' at Rockpool restaurant empire
Though it was the Rockpool group who voluntarily admitted to events going back I think 5 years and voluntarikly paid back the money.
I am a cynic and immediately thought what a good way to deflect some blame.
But on the other hand it seems that many celebrity chefs are guilty of this behaviour and there were rumours before the PE guys bought him out.

I gather NP was at the big wedding today so can't see AJ giving him the big flick anytime soon :(

Bet you a dollar he wasn't responsible for the catering though

Heston B has joined the list of celeb chefs who have dudded their staff in Australia.Though really the Australian owners.

But it probably won't be operating much longer.

Why can't airlines have simple things done well.

That’s exactly what I want and prefer from J/F meals. Let SQ and EK do the caviar, all good. Before QF F menus became J meals with an extra side the food in that cabin was really good: tasty, filled you up and was good with the better wine that was on board then. Nothing outrageous and you didn’t need a thesaurus to know what you were ordering.
