Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

TT226, the 1055 hours morning MEL - SYD on Tuesday 4 June was not airborne until 1231. Delayed arrival is 1338 hours, 78 late for B738 VH-VOR.

Much later on 14 June, TT816, its sole flight that operates five days a week from CBR to BNE (the 1435 hours with A320 VH-VNC) took off at 1754 so arrival will not be until at least 1924, 189 late. This plane must be subbing for a defective colleague as it arrived in BNE this afternoon at 1449 hours, a minute early (ex SYD) on TT368 and then operated the BNE - CBR 1215 hours TT815 that was not in the sky until 1532 hours.

Yesterday this aircraft undertook an amazing nine flights, operating DRW - BNE - MEL - BNE - SYD - BNE - CBR - BNE - CNS - BNE, starting at a scheduled 0140 hours in DRW and finishing (344 minutes late) at 0224 on Friday 14 in CNS. Again, it must have subbed for part of yesterday for another defective plane.

With this sort of performance and its inability in most quarters and years to be profitable, one wonders how much time TT has left before VA's new CEO pulls the plug. I just can't see it continuing as there's no near term prospect of it returning an acceptable yield to shareholders.

TT213, the Tuesday 18 June SYD - MEL (the 0700 hours airborne at 0757 with A320 VH-VNK) should arrive at 0916 hours, 41 late.

Wednesday 19 June 2019's TT582, the 0730 hours morning MEL - CNS did not become airborne until 0850, so arrival for B738 VH-VUB should be at 1203 hours, 68 late.

TT501, the Friday 21 June 2019 scheduled 0745 hours MEL - HBA was in the sky at 0830. B738 VH-VUB should arrive at 0935, half an hour behind.

Much later on 21 June 2019, T669 from CBR down to MEL, the 1625 hours airborne at 1726 and also with VH-VUB should arrive at 1829, 54 late. Since the previous post, it has lost a net 24 minutes in ten hours.

B738 VH-VOR on the Monday 24 June 2019 scheduled 0700 hours MEL - CFS (TT700) was not airborne until 0759 so arrival will be more than 40 minutes later than the scheduled 0900.

TT550 (0715 hours MEL - OOL, VH-VOY) had not taken off by 0803 hours so it will be half an hour late or more arriving.

TT511, the 0610 hours BNE down to MEL was not airborne until 0703 with A320 VH-VNC. Expected arrival provided MEL is not closed due to fog is 0917 hours, 42 late.

TT206 (0645 hours MEL - SYD, B738 VH-YVA) took off at 0715 with arrival likely at 0901, 46 late.

TT518 (0915 hours MEL - BNE, Monday 24 June, VH-VNC) still had not departrd as at 1048 hours, so arrival will be close to 90 minutes late.

Later on Monday 24 June 2019, TT703 from CFS to MEL, the 1245 hours airborne at 1413 should arrive at 1601 hours, 76 minutes late with B738 VH-VOR.

Tuesday 25 June's TT269 (A320 VH-VNR, the 1840 hours SYD - MEL was in the sky at 1937) so arrival should be 2054 hours, 39 late.

TT282 (2100 hours last flight of the evening from MEL to SYD) is close to the wire on Thursday 27 June 2019 with takeoff at 2148 meaning arrival for A320 VH-VNF is suggested as 2255, half an hour late and (for landing) ten minutes prior to curfew.

With fog earlier in Sydney on Saturday 29 June 2019, TT357, the 0710 hours BNE - SYD took off at 0808, about 45 minutes late. A320 VH-VND has then had to hold above Scone for a considerable period, meaning likely arrival at its apron allocation at 1020, 95 late.

Continuing with one of the many fog-related SYD delays on Saturday 29 June, TT223 (1000 hours SYD down to MEL, B738 VH-YVA) was in the sky at 1217 so delayed arrival is 117 late at 1332 hours.

Also today, TT564 MEL-OOL (B738 VH-VUB) has a suggested arrival at 20 17, 132 min tardy. The return leg as TT571 has a very optimistic revised depature at 20 21.

TT536 MEL-BNE (B738 VH-VOR) also running late, with revised arrival at 20 06, 66 min late. I'm assuming this is why TT541 MEL-BNE is delayed to 20 26.

TT252 MEL-SYD (A320 VH-XUH) has a tentative arrival at 19 02, 142 min late.

TT662, the 1310 hours Sunday 30 June MEL - CBR is expected to depart at 1450 hours.

TT532 (1510 hours MEL - BNE) has an extremely lengthy delay with departure predicted at 2050 tonight (460 minutes late), suggesting that one Tigerair plane has failed.

On Monday 1 July, TT213 has kicked off its financial year participation with A320 VH-VNC on this 0700 hours SYD - MEL not taking off until 0828. Consequently, arrival is delayed until 0951, 76 late.
