Not even to visit the Hilo Hattai?Farewell Maui. Not that we left the ship.
We are in Hilo today. Have been too unwell since we got here Sunday a week ago to do anything but exist. And even then with some issues. I’m almost normal now and MrP is a day behind. A wicked virus. Not even to visit the Hilo Hattai?![]()
It was Hilo that your ship had to leave 500 PAX behind after the Tsunami warning!Good morning super humid Hilo. Bring on the volcanic eruption this arvo please.

Have arrived in Naples…… not feeling comfortable…
And yet here you are ...When we visited Naples in the 1970's the old saying "See Naples and die" came to my mind. Not because of its claim that Naples was so magnificent that there was nothing else in the world left worth to see but because you would probably be murdered there.
Only because we ran awayAnd yet here you are ...![]()
Yes. It’s the tsunami capital of the world apparently and the tour guide was excellent at telling us the story. Decimated by multiple tsunamis just this century as it’s the first place to experience a tsunami from earthquakes from Alaska through to Chile. It was Hilo that your ship had to leave 500 PAX behind after the Tsunami warning!
If your phone goes off, run like the wind back!![]()

There used to be Hilo Hatties EVERYWHERE. Became a running joke on our HI cruise years ago. There’s no Hilo Hattie in Hilo but I see there’s one in Kona where we will be tomorrow.
The guide must have been listening to you. He made explicit comments about Hilo Hattie. He's also doing some tours tomorrow from Kona. He's been excellent. We are just getting on the tender and plan to swim at least once in Hawaii.
