While we can disagree on whether we think it was a good idea or not, time will tell who was right. And I am supremely confident that my view is the right one

My point was not about you being right or not. As you know it is very hard to keep a thread on topic.

If you are to start a play area then you will also need to police that every thread in the so called AFF discussion area is kept on topic. Some might say a fine line between OnT and OffT.

Again just my humble opinion. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water!

Well, it is true that some topics drift a bit, and indeed some go completely off the rails, but some don't really start out with any particular relevance to loyalty programs (whether FF or credit cards). And these should belong in here (IMHO).

And lets face it, there was a degree of mumbling among some of the posters about things.

Indeed there have been rumblings from members and I think this was an excellent move from admin. Now we can be serious in the relevant areas and when you need to, blow off steam here in Playground. That will keep thread starters happy as their topics are discussed and don't end up wandering off into the ether - no better way to deflect people from staying around. Get used to it...

I think the Playground is a great idea. A little humour in the mainstream is great, but keeping the trivia and banter to its own forum is even better. Great move I say.
