Is that so bad?

I told potential Mrs JohnK early on that I didn't need someone to control my life or to tell me when I can and can't play golf. She's still with me or should that be I am still with her. ;)

I have a colleague whose wife tells him he has to look after the kids while she plays golf.!. They will get you either way

Re: You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Anyone suggest a way to stop cooking smells and other household smells? A normal face mask such as those worn by doctors/nurses is not enough.

A swimmers noseclip might help a bit...not a complete fix as you still breathe in thru mouth some aromas.

Zoggs Nose Clip - rebel

Cheap at $8......but cheaper still would be a clothes Peg ;-)

Re: You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Respirators with an activated cartridge will stop smells - is it for you JohnK? I have see you mention that you get claustrophobic and couldn't wear a Cpap mask so a respirator may not be practical unless it is for someone else (I have not been following - just noticed "Filter Pack" and "organic" and it caught my eye)
Not for me. I hate those odours but they don't make me nauseous and dizzy.

Re: You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Yes, I guess you are right about the apartment permissions (I wasn't aware of the exact living situation). But given the speed at which volatile molecules move and the quantity (that's expressed in my layman's terms!), you'd have to have a fair old movement of air between one's nose and the pot or the chair to prevent smelling the object. Maybe this is the answer, without the foot and hand coverings, but the rest is probably necessary to properly seal off the head (nose) and maintain the external air supply purity.

When it comes to eating, I guess the food would have to be liquefied and taken via a straw directly into the mouth, to prevent odour reaching the nose.

I think that outfit also conforms to the Qantas Lounge Dress Code. Win, win.

Re: You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Someone is talking on their mobile phone while standing in line to be served, and they are still on the phone when they are served (coffee shop, supermarket checkout line, customer service line, etc.)

What's your judgement?

They should step aside until they have finished their call, or hang up to be served.

That's a given. But only if you let them.

There's a saying that goes "Women: can't live with them and can't live with them."

You must mean "...can't live with them and can't live without them."

Start running... :)

LOL. There are only 2 women to worry about and both know I cannot be controlled.

Wife has just been calling 3 golf courses in Kanchanaburi for prices and availability. I gave her first preference of when she wants me to play. She says up to me. She knows golf makes me happy and does not mess with my plans.

Eat out perhaps?

Thanks. It's not about eating out. It's about living in a house where odours are a concern for a sensitive person. One option is to move.

Some of those masks with filters look good but are not cheap.

Giving wife a preference does not earn any marital status credits

Depends on who I'm talking to, step aside for work. But for the family, about 15 seconds before being served tell them to hang on - phone down by the side, do the business walk away and back onto the phone.

Actually it's can't live with them, can't kill them...

You need to filter gas and you need a proper seal. In general, they're designed for much more dangerous gases in higher concentrations, which comes at a cost. Might be best to pop into a Seton or other safety store to discuss with them.

- and the filters need to be replaced - the carbon starts absorbing as soon as it is opened and gets to the point where the user can no longer breath easily through it so there would be ongoing costs.

I may have a half face one and some filters I could send/give you - I will have a look on Monday to see if there are any and that the cartridges have not expired - although that may not really matter for what you are using it for

re: Does Qantas fly a 4 Class 747 on 3 Class Route (First seats in Business)

First class seat = lie flat, but very narrow and hard.
I sat in one of these seats for ~1 hour ~13 years ago and thought they were great.

I sat in one of these last year HKG-SYD and thought they were ordinary.

Give me 43H anyday....
