Are you talking about on-board vodka or the stuff in the lounge?

Either way, still better (almost anything is) than Smirnoff (well, you could do just as bad - Absolut, Skyy comes to mind...)

I think F Lounge & F class both have Wyborowa Vodka (Polish). Hopefully they haven't downgraded on this.

In other news, Flashware would like to make it known that the 'AFF tags work'. He met Paddy55 on the same aircraft with the tag visible just as the latter was putting the bag in the overhead.

So use those tags, people. (Unless, of course, you prefer to remain very much incognito.)

Stuff in the lounge. They had Smirnoff and Grey Goose.

Currently in SIN FCL, Paddy55 guested myself + his +1 in. It was mentioned it's normally 1 guest but that they'd make an exception today! :p

...

Doesn't seem to be self serve champagne anymore, though. 2 people just had drinks brought out on a tray, I'm wondering if that was it.

Edit: and... now have 12K :)
Congrats on 12K - how was it?

As for Champagne in BA LHR J lounges (not F), it has been this way for quite some time even going back to T4 days. i.e. Available on request.

Tried to take a cappucino through security at BNE Domestic today (QF end) but was told by ISS Security I wasn't allowed to take it through because it's a liquid & apparently some rules have changed & it's not allowed.

A few years ago, I was asked to take a swig of a bottle of MiZone that I had opened and had in my hand as I approached security.

The rules seem to change weekly - just like the sensitivity of some of the metal detectors!

Wasn't too bad. Paddy55 was sitting in 11K ; noticed the AFF tag as he put his bag into the overhead locker :p

Interesting.. I guess the last flight I did out of T3 I wasn't much into champagne, so didn't notice!

I must say though, being in Emerald city... I was certainly made aware of the fact that I wasn't OWE! Most of the people around me were specifically greeted (albeit with the same thing "oh you must have a lot of miles to burn") and all I got was a "hello".

Quid quid quid.... how's best to get it

Hi everyone.

Colleague and I are heading to the UK. Currency wise, I'm armed with 28 Degrees MC preloaded up, (forced decision, not mine) GBP 300 in cold hard banknotes, and GBP 40 on a Travelex card which I intend to withdraw in the UK and then close after I return (useless piece of junk).

Colleague is leaving next Friday. He doesn't have a 28 Degrees MC, and probably can't apply for one (both because it's too short a timeframe, and he is not an Australian PR nor has a substantial source of income except for his RHD scholarship, so on almost all fronts fail the credit test). Given that he will be in the UK for the good part of about 1.5 weeks, he's asking:
  • Assuming some expenses will be put onto credit card (but some expenses he will need to hand over cash), what would be a decent amount of quid he should get.
  • Given he has no 28 Degrees MC, what would be the best way to get quid:
    • Currency Exchange in Australia?
    • Withdraw from ATM in UK?
    • Currency Exchange in UK?
    • Other idea? Or, given that he probably won't need more than GBP 500 in cold hard cash, the small amount doesn't really make a difference?
Reaching out to the well-travelled collegiate here for your wisdom....

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They need to go back to the drawing board, I am getting confused now where my illegal land uses are allowed and aren't. They will need to clearly mark them all!

That's easy illegal land uses can be done anywhere except on that land.

A more important question is what is the penalty for breaking the prohibition and how does it compare the the penalties for illegal land uses?

Also there will be another domestic leg of an international flight to add to that table wherever it is on AFF for QF8 DFW/BNE on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat.
What we really need is a SYD-BNE flight from international terminal on a Sunday night....

Well it would suit me anyway. ;)

Looks like I am onto the soft stuff, can't find any bottles of water for take away.

You won't find plastic bottles of Evian or Mount Franklin, but there should still be glass bottles of San Pelligrino and a still variety in the self-serve fridge?
