the more astute of you would realize I am not using the in-flight internet of QF73 to San Fran today. The flight I was suppose to be on right now (AEST). Caught the lurgy/flu like illness with horrible cough. I did not want to spread my virus around the world. So I chose to stay home. Now I am thinking how do I recoup my losses i.e. flight and Conference fees in Dallas. Anybody got suggestions. I do have a Centurion card. I would appreciate some advice as my foggy brain is in neutral.
Oh dear, hope you are feeling better soon. Certainly agree with others that a doctor's certificate is the place to start and if you can get one today, so much the better as that will make it very clear you were unable to travel.

We stay at the Marriott Marquis in New York City as it is so close to the theatres. Sure there are more exclusive hotels but this works ok for us.
Last time we saw Bette Midler in Hello Dolly, Dear Evan Hansen,Waitress and Groundhog Day.
We saw Hamilton previously and Billy Joel too.
This year we will see some new shows and will be guided by the Tony Awards.

Would love to see Holly Dolly and the Book of Mormon.

Watching Holly Dolly last night, Barbra Strestand (sp?), amazing talent.

Looking at this photo, feeling a little bit teary about how AFF has changed me.

5yrs ago, very safe with travel agency and not doing too much different from Viator.

Now it's Easter Island last year, driving a Jag through Scotland, going to NZ just to see a movie, thinking of Iceland, not to forget not in Y anymore.

Big hug everyone! And no, I'm not drinking :p

Our relatively inconsequential bank loan was approved AND disbursed today.
Makes our debt mamagememt2 somewhat simpler.
Decided to finally crack my bottle of Grey Goose and I must say it's going dpwn nicely.
Off to dinner tonight at Ms Kitty's in Maylands.
The child is at grandma's so the chances of a good night's sleep are high.

Coworker flying Etihad to the UK today, her husband and 20yr daughter in Y. Only found out yesterday that they were flying. Told her how to go about making a upgrade bid blah blah blah and all 3 flew J today. Cost them $2K for 2 people all the way to LHR and they all got lounge (4hrs) ect so she was thrilled.

At least they were teachable. Some only hear the blah blah blah

Knowing her, she would have given her seat to her husband or daughter, because she always sacrifice for others so happy for her - she's a needs medication/flying anxiety flyer so hope she sat back and relaxed.

And now doomed to be super anxious preflight about upgrades because can’t possibly travel in Y any more, obsessed about whether seat 11A is better than 12A, incredulous about Y passengers using their toilets, and expectations which were modest are now unmet.
Geez great friend you are!!!:D:D:D

Friend today asking about why his loyalty status bonus did not arrive 5 days after hitting 500SC (QF).

Was not happy when informed that Oman Air does not count as loyalty.

What I and others have discovered about sending anything to Africa is that goods tend not to get there. Better to give cash - so long as electronic transfer is available

cash is sort of not what I wanted to do. I don’t know the girl particularly well and I just wanted to send some cute little clothes for her baby.... Botswana is a fabulous country and very honest - just totally forgot the parcel had to go via Joburg. :( I’ve been lucky - sent dozens of parcels to South Africa and never had one go astray - just taken 6 or 7 months!

Hope the clothes will still fit
