Can all you folks in Melbourne stop opening your fridge doors as we are coming over for a short visit.

Thats. Nuts!

Many, many, many, many years ago I was in Alaska and they had these thingys hanging from the front grill, to plug in their car so it doesnt freeze.

I would drive south until someone would say, "What is that thing!?", then I would know its warm enough to stay there.

<snip>

You mean like this? I didn't have the option of driving south, unfortunately, :(

BTW isn't this result interesting. People following this debate may find the authors of the paper telling, to say the least. If you find a pay wall, the article begins:
Climate models over-estimated warming

Climate models were wrong and being updated to better reflect the results of satellite temperature measurements that confirmed a slowdown in temperature rises over the past two decades, a group of leading climate scientists has said.

The admission is contained in a new paper published in Nature Geoscience, which says natural factors and unforeseen events were responsible for models overestimating the temperature rise in the troposphere.
Natural variability included El Nino and La Nina weather patterns and long cycle movements in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
Unforeseen factors that contributed to cooling included volcanic eruptions, a weaker sun in the last solar cycle and a rise in pollution from coal-fired power plants in China.
The paper, “Causes of differences in model and satellite tropospheric warming rates”, is the latest shot in an ongoing scientific row over the pause or slowdown in the global temperature rise over the past two decades despite a big increase in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere.
Authors on the paper included Benjamin Santer from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the US, Michael Mann from Penn State University and Matthew England from the University of NSW.

In other words, there's never enough bloody Global Warming when you need it. ;)

SMH is reporting 6 billion points less will be earned this year due to the Reserve Bank changes that start today.
I don't think I need to take a big haircut on making and using points and miles.

We wont see much of a change in point earns, we get them slowly but consistently through various ways.

I used my VA estore menulog link to get 3K points the other day to order staff lunches for stocktakes. It all adds us for us, slowly, but we're back up to 225K points after my recent big point spend :)

Who is to say that inside the fridge couldn't be warmer than the ambient temperature? :)

Hence the Russian joke about the tundra native and his refrigerator.

Unless of course you work for a company that works to a 31 Dec financial year...

Or September 30th but there's always FBT and ATO EOY to enjoy.

My husband and I just got back from having pedicures, the ladies always ask if he wants a colour.

I think I have posted this before, but I used to work in a drive through bottle shop in the Adelaide Hills. In mid winter it was warmer in the coolroom (at 4c) than outside.
