Who on earth is going to buy health insurance based on getting a 'free' fluffy toy?

Me! And a quick poll of the office today revealed about 90% of them too.

It's brilliant marketing.

They were very popular when released in the UK, some people collecting the whole set.

Started digging up plants today to take with us when we move. Got a couple more to go, but they need to wait another month or so till the leaves start to drop.

Our new estate actually has a list of prohibited plants which is interesting. Most make sense, like patterson's curse and blackberries, but I was a bit stunned to see "Prunus spp." listed, as Prunus covers many trees including apricots, nectarines and even almonds. The Estate office did some investigating for me to narrow down what was actually banned (funnily enough the exact tree our current council plants on the nature strips) and happily informed me that I could definitely plant fruit trees in our new garden.

Just realised we used to employ Valerie who is cooking tomorrow night on MKR. She told me off once for serving dhall. Said it was a low caste dish.

Amusingly, at least you get a fluffy toy, bugger all else with your health insurance! :)

Probably the only good thing to come out of murdoch's phone hacking scandal (apart from the demise of that horrid publication "the news of the world", that is).

For those that may have missed it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_International_phone_hacking_scandal

Mark Colvin's kidney donation becomes a theatre play - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Organ donation? Good stuff, I'm happy for everything of mine to be donated except for my eyes, but that can't happen anyway as I've had laser surgery!

I also doubt very much that my liver will be of any use to anyone, unless of course you want a well used one!

$550,000 for a secret intimate relationship with a personal assistant at work.....I just love reading annual reports.....
A while ago we had to wonder whether infidelity was worse than fraud until the judge said fraud was much worse.
We seem to be getting some interesting news to get us thinking.

Voicemail on my work phone asking to make an appointment for some blood tests. We're a university department and do nothing of the sort :D Not the first time either, I've had people ringing to ask for their results to be interpreted.

thats off topic to suggest an on topic thread in an off topic thread :)

I don't do double negatives well but I think that means my post is fine?

Thanks for reminding me you worked in a Uni Med area. I have these weird blood test results I'd like you to check over.

Actually I reckon my boss would be helpful for you, but from a research perspective. They do deal with clinical stuff, its just that we arent a pathology service.

My Dr tells me I'm a research specimen and the kind of patient history they love to put on physician medical examination papers to sort out the different levels of critical thinking and expertise.

The various medical services are very confusing for lay people. I always thought pathology just dealt with dead people.

General medical thread?. :)

...........

Why is it after waiting for a elevator lift for a extra long time then give up and walk to stairs that the lift always arrives as you start up the stairs?

Amazing how a couple of small interactions with colleagues can make me SO grumpy and upset SO quickly. :(
