Tens of thousands of jobs will be lost due to the loss of car industry yet we could have bought subs off the shelf overseas. IPA via Liberal party always wanted to get rid of the car industry and thus unions. Military complex production always plays with the public when you tie it into nationalism. What was that public holiday we had yesterday that is suddenly sponsored by everyone?

Clearly you know more about the sub industry than others.

Well the then Abbott government wanted to get of local sub production but lost their nerve. The Malcolm is now trying to ride under the wave against that backlash.

And no doubt you would have criticised that plan too.

Do you know where Japanese technology with subs actually sits right now? Cheap is not always best.

Ironing hmm. I have the iron turned on behind me and two overflowing baskets of the bloody stuff. However catching up on FF news is heaps more interesting. Been putting it off for weeks and it's got to the stage of me actually needing some clothes so I have no choice. Trash tv and a cuppa and away I go

I love ironed clothes. The way they smell and look. I hate ironing though. My solution is 'just in time' ironing. Trained the kids young to so their own and Mr Timtammi has always done his own too. I think I remember telling him 'I don't do ironing' when we were dating.

I iron several times a week, probably every second day - that way it never gets too big and anyway there are only 2 of us. I run the washing machine every day usually.

Hey, I am with JohnK. Where is the polar bear?
What? How did that happen? Its back but not in your avatar?

I see ironing as a duty to Australian taxpayers, since I received Australia Government funded training in ironing. Of course, we were taught to iron clothes that had a "special" coating on that was destroyed if ironed. So we were also destroying taxpayer funded property while using our training. But then the NCOs logic was difficult to question:
1. Un-ironed looks like a bag of excrement
2. The coating washes out after 3 washes anyway.

I learned of the benefits of ironing the bed during that same training course.

Those same NCOs "politely suggested" that we re-apply copious amounts of "special" coating - starch - during the wrinkle-removal process to enhance the longevity of the required creases.
Many years later MrsTheEmu "politely suggested" that I abandon the practice (on economic grounds).
Ever eager to please, I stopped ironing… her stuff.
And tablecloths.
Apparently seersucker is supposed to be lumpy.

I thought my polar bear was getting a bit old and it has been nearly 6 years since we were in the Arctic so time for a change. Have been meaning to do it for ages. Your comment to Pushka reminded me. You'll get used to me as a young lion eventually :).
