Our legendary Junior Technician George Elliott has been awarded an Australia Day honour - George has been named 'Young Citizen of the Year 2016' by Bayside Council for his never ending commitment and participation in running youth activities throughout the Bayside Council - well done Georgie - we are so proud of you!



Edit: I should add George never said a word to us - he was standing here this morning when a potential customer said to him - 'Aren't you the nice young boy who won that Citizen award on Tuesday'?

Gross. Originally Pommery (which was disgusting), current is not bad (Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Blue Top NV), if the new is going to be Castelnau (they use this in the lounge and it's horrible!) then that's bad.

Agree. Supposedly the Castlenau in the lounge is Vintage 2002 (and now I think about it, it is), whereas the one onboard will be NV. Can only imagine what it will be like.

Shame I'm not through LHR for a few more weeks (at the moment - always subject to change) for me to give the CastleNO another chance. (Now that the BA lounge at LGW is closed, there's not much incentive to fly out via there any more unless the price is right)

We have quite a lot of ministries that are far less use to our nation than a ministry of viticulture excellence. Someone like you with a desire to contribute to the welfare of our nation would make an ideal dept. secretary. I can visualise the interview now:

"Tell the committee, Mr Penegal, what skills and attributes would you bring if appointed to this position?"

This is true. There are circa ~200 federal ministries at last count. Most of them have no profile.

I think you're confusing Departments with their Ministers.

I meant federal government agencies, of which there are approx 200.

There isn't a 1:1 correlation to appointed minsters.

Some of those ministers have multiple ministries. For example:

Minister for Employment
Minister for Women
Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service

Other than Qantas I never sign up for promotional material but today have received 3 first time promo emails from companies I've used for years.

And another Aussie company keeps sending me promo texts. I have twice sent them STOP replies.

I was looking forward to this movie. Of course the original series had enough comedy and plot for 30 minute episodes. Might be difficult to stretch that to movie length. Or the writers aren't that good. Or times have changed.

Oh the joys of Tesco.

Two years back saw the "Complete Dad's Army DVD Collection" for GBP 13.

Even included 'lost episodes' and a few other bits and pieces. Some brilliant episodes with a few also rans - well worth the investment.


BTW - is buying 108 DVDs online, getting them delivered to UK hotel to collect on the way through excessive? Family thought so but at GBP 1 each how could I not do it.

Staff at hotel ALL knew of delivery, where it was stored...

Amazing how little room they can take up in a suitcase.

And yes, they all work on our home DVD players as well as the one I had in Austria.
