Sorting out stuff at Mum's house, I found the collection of threepenny coins that used to be put in the Christmas pudding, before after decimalisation when it wasn't good to use the 5 cent coin.

Also a nice collection of round 50 cent coins and a heap of pennies and half pennies, anyone for two up?

No old notes though.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It was only today that I found out actor Richard Kiel aka Jaws has passed away.

Who doesn't remember him in The Spy Who Loved Me and a somewhat softer vilain in Moonraker.
And the only line he spoke was "Well, here's to both of us"

It seems quite fitting too that before acting he was a cemetery plot salesman and night club bouncer.
At 2.24 metres, I think I would leave if he asked me to.

Interesting. Waitrose has that pudding also, only supermarket here that does.

Ohh, so if we like those ones, we'll be able to get one in London without bringing one over with us for Christmas?
(And carting it all over the place before getting to London for Christmas!!)

been travelling for a couple of weeks and hadn't heard of his demise. Hopefully it was from natural causes. Great villain

I'm on a week's leave to get the place spick and span for my daughter's wedding on Saturday. No, the wedding is not at our place, but a winery in the Yarra Valley, but the bridal party will set out from here, and the photographer will be here, so windows cleaned, garden tidied and flowers planted (that nobody will notice). Still, it's been an enjoyable time so far, and the wedding will be sensational.

Just have to prepare my speech......

Great day to have your credit card compromised. Someone bought lots (ie over $1k) of kids clothes and shoes in Brazil! Bank has been great, but ironically I received a credit limit increase invitation in the post today.

Maybe they have doe you a favour after all :p
Hey big spender.....

Both of my sons have had their credit cards compromised after their trip to the US, Brazil , US and then home. One attempt was to buy a frozen yogurt as a tester but the credit card company had been advised of all the travel dates so no damage was done.

The round 50s are worth a little bit just for the silver value alone (are about 80% silver) - $9-10 each

I was in the US a few months back, so quite possible. Bank didn't spot the fraud, I did as I've barely been using the card and wondered how $1200 had vanished.

Important question, did you get to keep the points?

In the 90's I got a round 50c back as change. And the bus driver actually gave back the right change. Makes me wonder who would give up a silver coin that is worth more then face value.
