Because you could probably give it!

LOL, I have actually been flying SQ a lot more since they pulled the A380s (which coincided with the new lounge opening).

[Puts flame shields up]

I have been ENJOYING 3K SIN KUL lately, good connections with QF and use of the lounge in SIN, while the other way there is no lounge I find a coffee in Delifrance fine, flew on Sunday for $7, cannot bring myself to fly MH for hundreds of dollars and a packet of peanuts or though I did it once earlier in the year ...

I flew Jetstar Asia last weekend to go have a beer with some mates, get a cheap IC stay, and then fly back to SIN... It was cheap as chips, and it was fine. LCC are 'okay' for short hops, especially in Asia.

What was annoying is that the QF lounge doesn't open until 14:30hrs, so couldn't use it on the outbound. I was stuck in the SATS Premier Lounge (AmEx / DC / PP / etc.)

MH have some excellent through fares from SIN though. E.g SIN-HAN (via KUL) $135 one way. but yes not worth it for a single ticket sin-kul

Indeed, as they do ex HKG, however for KUL-SIN they are still in shuttle mode with SQ, and the points return is laughable if crediting to QFF.

interestingly my SIN-KUL-HAN cheapest ticket books into a mileage earning bucket on sin-kul but not kul-han, so the 10 points I will earn is hopeless but the 10 status credits is ok.

Very true, I only got 259 QFF points (including Cabin bonus) from KUL-SIN J business. But the 40 SC's more than made up for the lack of points. ;)

Hi,
I used the Singapore lounge for the first time in 3 years, waiting for QF6 on June 6.
Agree with all the favourable comments on vastly improved decor, food & drink offerings, & service, although the layout is similar to before.
I also found the lounge more relaxing. Although it was busy, it was not too unbearably crowded like many of the other overseas QF lounges such as LA.
I was a regular user of the Sing lounge previously mainly for flights originating in Sing. Now without so many through flights from London leading to a surge of people in the lounge it is a more tranquil place. Am looking forward to using it again next month

I used the Singapore lounge for the first time on 10 June. It wasn't to my liking -I would describe the atmosphere as IKEA meets cafeteria.Although it wasn't packed it seemed really noisy (the large expanse of polished concrete floor?) and it was difficult to find a quiet spot.Like many others I decided to eat in the lounge and go straight to sleep on QF6 by skipping the meal service. The self serve food options were OK, but relative to other Asian one world lounges that I accessed on this trip (in Hong Kong and Tokyo Narita), I was rather underwhelmed.

ROFL. I did MH in J KUL to SIN a month ago, as part of a larger itinerary/fare. Mid afternoon, and got offered a satay I think - didn't take it, as I had just had a nice lunch in the Platinum Suite at KUL and the QF SIN lounge beckoned.

259 points, 40 SCs :!:

But now with that novelty behind me, 3K might be a goer.

Yes the PC and printing facilities are much missed.
I used the computers at the BA lounge (around the corner) last time before heading to the QF lounge for a shower and feed.

haha, It was good to see you again markis10.

Monday night was something of an unofficial AFF meet up. I met a member of the Facebook page, then had a beer with markis10, then caught up with Brettmcg for some vino and a snack after you boarded.

Ah, I was there that day. I really should pay more attention to these things.

fwiw, i enjoyed the fatty beef stew thing in the buffet, the assortment of vegetables and the creme brulee (I had three ). Think I'll use the shower products I'll souvenir from the hotel next time rather than the stuff in the pump bottle.

I don't think the lack of PC's, printers is a major issue. With good wireless connection and most people with laptop, ultra book, tablet or smartphone then access is not really a difficulty. For printing, if it is required on your trip you should invest in the cheap portable printer options available. In any event, I try to minimise paper printouts these days

It would not be hard to set up an air print printer that most if not all devices could print to on the service desk!

All very well, but in a Lounge, especially a newly fitted out lounge like SIN, printers are both a usually provided facility and often in use.

I have carried a portable printer on long trips where I know I'll be doing presentations or hand-outs on the run, but its not reasonable to suggest people carry such when lounges should be able to provide.

The one and only time I have been there, I was directed to shower # 4, which had a little collection of shampoo and other products in bottles. I wondered at the time if this was one of the 4 CL showers? (I'm not CL :( ).

As an aside, the marble walls were stained more than one would expect from a newly renovated facility. Orange-?iron staining down low in the non-shower area and grubby-looking grey 'stains' around the lower walls of the shower stall. Didn't look dirty, just un-attractive.

Thats probably because the showers and toilets have not been renovated.

OK, in that case I can say they look it and I'm surprised QF didn't "finish the job". Getting stains like I saw off marble isn't difficult, in situ.

Three of the toilets in the area near the bar were out of service on Monday in the Mens.
