The Qantas Singapore Lounge

I'm looking forward to seeing the new QF Singapore lounge for myself in August. I might even forget about asking for late checkout at the hotel as I usually do, and instead just head for the lounge when it opens.

Keep in mind its not open until 2.30!

Don't worry, I am planning a OW lounge crawl and will have all the OW lounge opening and closing times clearly noted :)
Avoid the MH Golden Lounge in T2 if you're short on time... not worth the time spent on the escalators... or moving between terminals!

LOL, the only other real option is the Skyview lounge which is 24 hr, MH is a small room in another terminal, while BA opens after Qantas, EK is open for its flights but shuts from 10 until 1 from memory.

I suspect it was the local MH airport manager that was given a tour of the QF lounge on Monday, would not be surprised if a move to T1 is not far away and they use QF.

Don't try the CX Skyview lounge though, its a horrible excuse for a lounge and the food was simply terrible.. I had food poisoning later that night, and during my flight so can only assume it was Skyview as there was about 10 hours between eating there and getting sick.

I sure hope so... I fly between SIN and BLR via KUL often, and while I used to do it with SQ mostly, I like to do it now on MH for OW inclusions. Have been moving back and forth between terminals for the QF Lounge. The staff are always quick to remind me there is no calls as I'm in the wrong terminal. I tell them it's worth it.... and proceed to grab pint one of Heineken! :)

As it has been discussed before food poisoning has a varied incubation period so it could have been anything that you ate within the ~48/72(roughly) period before the actual onset.

That is why you find a lot of places don't accept liability for food poisoning unless there is proof they can't dispute.

I'll be doing the same for my next trip, flying in on QF from MEL and connecting on to KUL with MH but will use the QF facilities

I agree it's not the best facility. However they did let me in as a OWE even though I was on a Bangkok Airways flight, so all credit to them for that.

So with a 12 noon hotel checkout, travel time to airport and check in, that sounds like EK would be the first stop followed by visits to MH and CX, by which time QF will be open, and then BA :) Just as a preliminary plan, to be reviewed closer to the date.

Yes I am aware of this, but when I say food poisoning I just had severe diarrhea and bloating, no vomiting, and the beef 'stroganoff' I had at skyview the beef was rock hard and had a funny taste to the meat after a couple of pieces I pushed the plate away.

The day before the only thing I can thing I can think of is warm parma ham from the CX first lounge in HKG.

EK has good dining options and great views, I think a few hours in there is better than the walk to skyview.

[Puts flame shields up]

I have been ENJOYING 3K SIN KUL lately, good connections with QF and use of the lounge in SIN, while the other way there is no lounge I find a coffee in Delifrance fine, flew on Sunday for $7, cannot bring myself to fly MH for hundreds of dollars and a packet of peanuts or though I did it once earlier in the year:

18 MAR 13 MH 603 DISCOUNT ECONOMY 17MAR13 KUALA LUMPUR/SINGAPORE 52 - - 52 10

vs

30 APR 13 3K 684 JETSTAR ASIA 28APR13 KUALA LUMPUR/SINGAPORE 207 - 207 1,000 10

I will probably pop in again later in the month when flying CX to HKG.

I also noticed that someone was getting a tour... Why didn't I get a personalised tour :p :p :p :p

I got a tour on my first visit! Felt very special... until the guy that came in behind me, and the lady behind him got it as well... quiet day, near start of operation

Might see you there!

But do not nick all the creme brûlée or I'll get Red Roo onto you. :)
