The Qantas Singapore Lounge

I was also there easter monday, ~2030 onwards for QF6. Place was probably 1/4 full? everyone was making use of the lounges by then. Tables were empty.

We were also in the lounge that same night, albeit a little earlier than 2030. It was no surprise to me that the lounge was only 1/4 full by the time you arrived, Shan Man. Keep in mind that QF6 is the last QF flight out of SIN and by 2030 most pax for the 2105 QF36 (second last flight of the day) would have been boarding/at the gate/on their way to the gate. We also flew the QF6 back to SYD and it was probably only around 70% full that evening, which would explain the light load in the lounge.

Turning to our experience in the lounge: I cannot sing the praises of the staff enough. We were personally welcomed in by Concierge Shirley Lee, who had found out I was to celebrate my birthday the next day. She looked after every need and even organised a birthday cake and some glasses of, what I believe was the P1/CL Champagne :p Alongside Faith and Eric and all of the other wait staff, Shirley made sure that the SIN Lounge was the perfect preparation for our trip back.

This was my second time in the lounge and IMHO it is a huge improvement on the old QF/BA setup. I really enjoyed this return visit, especially with the excellent freshly prepared food and extensive buffet selections.

Despite some of the comments/gripes on here, I love the look and decor of the lounge INCLUDING the open ceiling! I think it makes the whole space brighter and more inviting than the old dark wood and carpet. I couldn't care less about the Champagne vs. sparkling wine debate, which I am aware has seen some posters prefer to use the EK lounge instead. Based on my experience in EK lounges throughout their network, the food offerings you find there are probably comparable to stuff that ends up in the bins at Rockpool. I'll go for great food, coughtails and tap beer over one or two French Champagnes any day.

As far as I'm concerned, the only piece missing in QF's SIN puzzle is now the hard product on the aircraft. We were in Y+ and lucky enough to have a refurbed 744 on the way back (they've done a cracking job on those), but unfortunately that type is not long for this route! I really hope that management are clever enough to send the first refurbed 330s to SIN, as I believe this would give QF a super-competitive product from end to end. Shame that there appears to be no intention to include Y+ as part of that program. It really is an excellent product for flights of this length!

I too agree the QF SIN Lounge is fantastic.

My visit was back in March & I have made another booking to go to SIN for September & will certainly utilise this Lounge early when departing SIN.

For me the SIN Lounge is aesthetically different to many other Lounges around the world & the Live Cooking Station is where all the action is to be found (Ie to strike up a good conversation with Fellow passengers & the passionate Staff members.)

The Staff in this Lounge really enjoy do enjoy working here & it shows in the level of detail.

My one & only gripe is that the Lounge does not make boarding call for EK flights....... I'm really stumped to know why this is as I was actually on a QF flight number just flying on EK Metal.

But the lovely staff checked for me by calling the EK Lounge, so again, Top marks go to the QF SIN Lounge staff for Outstanding service.

That dont make calls for most of the QF codeshare flights, in the interests of noise pollution. Its a common thing, same happens in the EK lounge for QF flights.

Too early, sorry. Could probably have guested 2, will likely arrive around your boarding time.

I forgot there was a thread dedicated to the new SIN lounge. Was there around the beginning of June and thought it was great. Loved the layout and different spaces, the dining area was good as was the freshly cooked food. We also made use of the showers with the new Aurora Spa amenities. All round a great lounge.

Shame about HKG though :(.

Spent about 3 hours here 2 days ago before my evening 3K flight to Kul...experienced the shower (hot but a bit low in pressure), sit down dinner service with 2 hot options (nice but 3 or 4 options would be ideal), bar service with a Singapore Sling and cashews to nibble on. Overall, a big thumbs up from me!

Met a woman who said it was the best QF lounge she has been to even after I asked her whether she had been to the QF F lounges in Syd / Mel...I suspect she hadn't and was telling me a white lie as, like others, whilst nice, the QF Sin lounge is not in the same league as those 2 lounges.

On a separate note, I'm on QF 6 next week. ..so which lounge would you recommend BA, EK, or QF? I will need a shower, good dinner, a nice red wine or two before my night flight where I intend to sleep as soon as I board.

Shower: QF probably works best, with enough suites that it practically shouldn't run out.
Dinner: If you like the options in QF, stick with it, although some find the standard issue EK offerings more appealing.
Nice red wine: That's a difficult one... although you get proper champagne in EK (and I think in BA as well).

Yes, the BA lounge has champagne.

The BA lounge is across from the QF lounge and worth going to.

I beg to differ. It's the old QF business lounge and IMHO has not changed for the better. And still only Black Label Scotch.

With all due respect the BA F Lounge was indeed a shared BA/QF F lounge and was never really considered to be much cop with showers that whilst nice were often dirty and warm water at best. Poor food selection and very cramped during peak times.

The current QF Lounge was the old shared BA/QF shared Business Lounge.

I am not sure if it has happened or when it will but the BA F Lounge is supposed to be being upgraded.

My error. Of course it was the F lounge.

What is BA currently serving?

Sorry, I can't remember, except it was not one of the common QF varieties (such as Tattinger, Moet and the like).

No problem. Was it any good?

I think it was ok. Obviously not overly memorable.

Last time I was there (measured in months), the BA drop was Joseph Perrier non-vintage. Pleasant enough, but I was in no position to finish a bottle by myself to put it to full test.
