Is there a CX and/or MH lounge also at SIN? Are they any good?

The one world website will answer the question for any airport in the world. In short there is the Skyview lounge which is run by emirates sister company Dnata for CX, it's at the D gate junction and is OK but a good walk, MH have a small lounge in another terminal which is average, JAL us an average third party lounge.

The business centre was being used as a prayer room.

I'm surprised as that business centre can't be closed up (i.e. with a door), as far as I can remember. I'm not a Muslim but I'm guessing that would be a lousy Surau.

Come to think of it, given that EK is from a Muslim country, did anyone notice if there is a prayer room in the lounge? I know that the MH lounge has one.

Maybe it was Alan Joyce.

AJ is a Muslim?

Don't know, don't care, but IME, airport prayer rooms are usually open to those of all religions and none.

Depends on which airport and which designated prayer rooms, but for Muslim countries and Muslim airlines, their prayer rooms are typically for Muslims only (usually denoted Surau).

Then I'll stand corrected, I don't have much recent experience of Muslim airports and airlines.

Nothing in the thread so far, says it was being used for Muslim prayers.

I left that part out. There were 2 prayer mats. Chanting. I felt uncomfortable.

I know how you feel. I saw this bloke wearing a cross on a necklace, I knew he was covertly trying to convert me.

I know that the EK lounge in DUS had a dedicated prayer area with copies of the Quran, a Qiblat compass and prayer mats. Didn't bother me and I guess it is probably to be expected on a Middle Eastern airline. What did annoy me was that in the so called "quiet area" of the EK F Lounge in DXB that they blasted the morning call to prayer through the speakers at around 6am (doesn't happen in the general lounge area AFAIK). I was probably more annoyed it because I had sought refuge in there as I was suffering terrible stomach cramps and just feeling generally disgusting :S

What are you trying to say? You trying to mock me? Well done.

There is a reason there are prayer rooms.

Sat a table away from some absolute wankers in the SIN QP.

There's some real rude Aussies out there (and these aren't J*/FIFO/Bogan pax), esp the one who think rules don't apply to them and it's ok to be rude to staff.

On the positive side, the vanilla parfait is even better than the brûlée!
