Bassinets are in row 5, 3A and 4A have an extra window and feel a bit more private with less foot traffic than row 1 and 2. I always take 3A.
2A is about as good as it gets. The A aisle has half the foot traffic as the other, not that there's a lot of goot traffic!. I've sat in 1A and found it fine too, despite being right behind the toilet and locker and so a bit less private. There are several seats and a door between you and Y, and the bassinet seats are on the other side and behind the galley. Enjoy the flight!

Yes, you come up the stairs and arrive at a public entrance to Security/Immigration.

Not so sure about that. Cant say ive noticed many options at T1 pre security on departures level. A few doughnuts and coffee shops on arrival levewebsite should elaborate on food options, but T3 might be easier.
If 1K or 1A were to open up, would they be preferable? Or should I stick with 2A?

I would stick with row 2 or 3.
I liked the private feel of 1A, on its own at the front. So I'd jump. The 1K side has 8 people behind you going to the toilet, rather then 4 on the A side, so I wouldn't jump for that. But the difference is pretty trivial, the seats you mention are all good.

Are you on the same booking? I’ve had this when upgrading another booking, but not on my own booking with others
We're on the same booking, which is why it surprised me. I would have expected it if upgrading family travelling on another booking that didn't have me on it. Which I have done in the past for my parents, but even then, I wasn't asked about them being 'eligible family members'.
