The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Just requalified WP (less than half way through the membership year) and noticed the difference here. Not that I am remotely looking to reach Platinum One - but assumed the 100SCs would count - or is this just timing with the new scheme?

Points club SC rollover has never counted towards P1.
Not a new thing.

Out of sheer curiosity, does anyone know how Qantas decides when to issue Status Credits on flights?

I’ve checked the app in-flight and so far have seen them issued 20 and 30 minutes before landing!

Who knows, but it seems to be some time after the flight is scheduled to depart. Yesterday I had SC and Points credited before the flight had even taken off! QF60 was delayed by 3.5 hours and I noticed they had appeared while I was waiting to board. There must be an infinite SC hack involving flex fares and regularly delayed routes..

OK, I managed to get an F award on QF7. What are the best F seats on the QF 388 for a solo traveller? 1A and 1K are taken/blocked and I currently have 2A.

There are no bassinets in F, right? But at the front of Y?

Bassinets are in row 5, 3A and 4A have an extra window and feel a bit more private with less foot traffic than row 1 and 2. I always take 3A.

A side of the plane is best as F and K side share same aisle.

2A is about as good as it gets. The A aisle has half the foot traffic as the other, not that there's a lot of goot traffic!. I've sat in 1A and found it fine too, despite being right behind the toilet and locker and so a bit less private. There are several seats and a door between you and Y, and the bassinet seats are on the other side and behind the galley. Enjoy the flight!
