I am flying Emirates First class to Dubai. As a Qantas frequent flyer, Qantas Club member (with 2 valid Qantas Business lounge passes) and Titanium card holder (with 2 valid Qantas First lounge passes) can I access Qantas Business Lounge and/or Qantas First Lounge before departing Sydney?

Yes - EK F ticket gets you into QF F lounge - none of the other stuff matters

On a sidenote, I am then transferred onto a business-only Emirates flight from Dubai to Venice (purchased with the First Syd>Dub but they don't fly First to Venice). Off topic but would I gain access to any first class lounges in Dubai even though I am forwarding onto to Venice in Business?

Yes - you +1 guest, per @SYD, above. Save the Ti benefit passes for another time! (also note - you couldn't use those passes for an EK flight number, incl. any QF>EK award booking... they are only redeemable on QF & JQ marketed flights)

I believe you would have access to the Emirates Business Lounges in Dubai based on Class of service.

It is possible EK have a policy of First Lounge access for Inbound First PAX connecting to Business but I have not come across any anecdotes. You can always pleasantly ask at Reception.

Worth a try at DXB. Worse case, your onward BP will get you into the J Lounges.

You can check baggage allowance via MMB. In the app, “VIEW DETAILS” \ “ViEW/PURCHASE BAGS”.

I tried via the app and it says the information is not available as I hadn’t booked through Qantas direct which is incorrect as it’s a reward booking.

Strange. I have a future CR SYD-SIN (return) and a few months and I can see baggage allowance. Another one on AA doesn't.

I just completed another CR with JQ->QF on the return flights and it was also showing baggage allowance for both JQ and QF sectors.

You could also try pulling up the booking on rj.com. From memory, it has baggage allowance info.

Hi, has anyone did a QF booking with an infant. My mate did a booking for 2 adults and 1 infant. However, for some reason, the infant doesn't show in the MMB - Passengers section, however, in the Seats section, there is a "Seat with Bassinet" allocated under my mate's name.

Is this normal? I have never done a booking with an infant, so I'm not sure how this works

I have asked him for a screenshot of the MMB - will add it to this post when I receive it.

AA will not interline on seperate bookings. Even AA to AA

I found an AA policy change document stating

• When all flights are on one ticket in the same record locator and a baggage agreement exists with all carriers on the ticket, AA will through check bags to final destination
• When flights are on separate tickets and in the same record locator connecting to oneworld carriers & their affiliates, AA will through check bags to the final destination

So it looks like they interline to oneworld, but my QF12 flight wouldn't be in the record locator.

I know this only partially on-topic, but would 3h20m be sufficient time to collect bags, head from T6 to TBIT, and check in for QF12 for 23:40 departure? Should be a fairly quiet time of night.

I looked at all the various "LAX connection time" threads I could find already but they were all different scenarios to mine

Thanks for this. I think it is better to call QF and see why the infant's name is missing from the Passenger section of MMB.

Yex, it should be plenty of time baring any delays. More than enough - remember, of course, if you are able to get your bag checked through so much the better as you can stay airside and follow the signs for the connection through T5/T4 and over to TBIT.

However, if you need to collect bags at T6, you can either catch the regular landside connection bus, or just walk from T6 to Tbit going past T5 and T4 in the process (you'd turn left when existing T6 arrivals, and head up to the departures level via one of the escalators along the way - there may also be a lift/elevator inside the terminal areas - I'm assume there is if that's easier with bag(s).

I'd estimate the landside walk from T6 -> TBIT to be 15 minutes at a regular pace but of course this can vary depending on pase.

As for it being "quiet"? Possibly In t6 yes things might be winding down a little past 8pm, but definitely TBIT will be a ZOO (and the security line will be huge). Also remember that QF will be checking in other departutes - MEL/BNE etc. The evenings at Bradley have a LOT of South Pacific/Asia flying, and a few european flights too. It's certainly a busy time there.

3 hours is definitely a good buffer - even if you're delayed an hour or so you can still do it pretty comfortably imo - at least you do not have to worry about any customs or immigration formalities, so it's pretty much akin to check in for a (US) domestic flight - but again beware that security lines can be pretty long there in the evening.

The good people over at FlyerTalk and here at AFF say there's no interlining from AA on separate bookings. Thought about calling QF to combine the two award bookings to one PNR but I don't want to roll the dice on the QF customer service competence and risk losing the J seats

I wasn't aware that TBIT was so busy at that time, good to know! I just read an article on PointHacks regarding LAX and I feel pretty confident that we should be fine with out connection time. Looked up our SEA-LAX flight and it has a stellar record of arriving ~15min early
