The Qantas Edge in First [ AJ: "Customers drool over our ...{Neil Perry} ... food!" ]

This is delusional in respect of both the food and the wine.
Qantas is way behind airlines such as Etihad for first class food.
And while I love some Australian wines - our bold SA reds in particular - there is no comparison between Australian sparkling wine and actual champagne.
The champagne QF serves in F should be servd in INT J and the champagne served in INT J should replace the Grant Burge acid rain currently served in DOM J.
Then they could introduce some really nice champagne in F.
I wouldn’t regard any of the Champagne I have been served in QF F as even approaching J standard Champagne on any comparable airline. They are all far superior to J Champagnes.
I agree about the Grant Burge comment though.

The unintended satire underlying this article is incredible. Clearly Mr. Joyce hasn't heard of Book the Cook or Singapore Girl. He also seemingly has never experienced the QSuite, which is the only J product which goes anywhere near being able to claim "mini F" status.

Ever wondered what Qantas thinks its edge over its competitors is. Now we know

So, there you go
I posted this in my concluding comments in July 2017:
"So overall, of all the A380 F products I have flown, I would rate EY > SQ = EK, (slightly > than) OZ, > TG, >> QF…...sad to say but QF is a distant last!"

The question is, why so many people here aspires to get QF F on awards, when QF F is such an inferior product compared to competitors, and cost so many points anyway?

Well I personally don't.
Last year I used my points to fly to Paris in CX F.

1. Because they have millions of Qantas points.

2. Not many great F products are flown to Australia. (no Air France or Lufthansa for example.)

3. Perceived safety benefits flying QF

for me personally, the 35,000 points upgrade from Sky Bed to actual privacy in F is well worth it.

Perhaps that’s why there’s so few available seats....
besides leaves more options to better competitors. As much as I would like to try it, there’s just none available unless you want to arrive In London in -10 which sounds about the score everyone here is rating QF F....

Mind you it’s classy to train ‘em at Rockpool,

Since I’m about to fly EK F home in 5 hours time. I’ll be sure to enjoy spectacular dining, but the bling, bling you can send that to the garage sale....

Have never flown QF F so don’t know if the hype is warranted or not. I wouldn’t mind seeing what the fuss is about though.

He earns his money for spin, that’s for sure.

I’ve only been privileged to experienced F on 4 airlines — SQ, QF, EK and LH. QF by far the poorest, especially for food and drink. Does beat LH for privacy. But that’s about it.

The hype, as expressed in the perennially delusional QF BS, is NOT warranted.

That said, it does beat whY ;), so do it once to satisfy the curiosity, then fuggedit and go to EK, QR etc...

My advice: only use points, don't pay cash. You would be absolutely livid if you dropped that much money on a decidedly average experience (unless you are filthy rich, but even then you would be annoyed that you could have got a much better experience on another carrier).

Would almost certainly be on points. 90% of our flights are self funded so I wouldn’t want to pay for the experience.

I have already raised in another thread, I am still struggling with the idea of using 50K AA points to book QF F vs my confirmed VA J (59K VA points) on SYD-HKG.

I have looked at a number of reviews online (video and blogs) and looking at the food and wine offered, it is similar, even though I am comparing QF F vs VA J. For seat size, QF is bigger but I am not a big person anyway.

Then really the difference would be the lounge: QF F Lounge vs The House and both provides in-dining experience so really the only difference there is the view and possibly the spa experience?

That's why I am struggling to see why QF F is called F, when it should just be QF J+ instead?
