OK, on arrival back home:
* Unpacked groceries provided by friends and left in my car when I picked it up. Pantry looks a bit full
* Inspected garden - in great shape - Lots and lots of tomatoes on the vines,
plus capsicums coming on and even some sweet corn left.
* Called local pharmacist - I can scan and e-mail in scrips, and they will deliver (great living in a small community)
* Called local IGA - I can phone in an order, and they will deliver
* Talked to neighbor on phone - got told the local 'secret' - the petrol station has good supplies of loo paper
* About to do some washing (maybe twice, in hot water??) and then, sadly, life will get pretty well back to normal. Back to my thesis.
Tonight, I'm going to have a big steak with tomato and eggs and the better part of a 2008 Rockford Basket Press. Its nice to be home!
I visited Versailles last week and by co-incidence I discovered the 'Versailles' series on US Netflix (did you get the US thing going?). Haven't checked if its local. I'm not sure of its historical accuracy, but its entertaining. (Its about the Court of Louis XIV, not the palace, although it was seen being built in the background.)
