Exchange Foreign Currency to AU?

Hi all, I was telling everyone that the Casino"s in Australia was the best place to exchange Foreign money to AU dollars..... Last done in early 2000's.

I recently went to the Money cage in Melbourne casino and informed this creased post COVID!

So for Melbourne and Brisbane where is the best rate exchange of physical foreign currency to AU dollars in 2026?

I've never converted back to AU, means I have various small piles of currency in the drawer, and this was because the exchange rate you would get was totally rubbish.

BEFORE a trip, this isn't a bad idea Buy Back Promise - Save On Fees | Travelex AU - However, FX rates with Travelex nowadays are shocking.

They were offering 1 AUD Australian Dollar= 1.3506 FJD whereas Travel Money OZ were offering 1 AUD = 1.4616 FJD.

Of course, the Wise rate is A$1 AUD = 1.577 FJD, which is better, but I prefer to leave AU with the cash in my pocket and for only $400 AUD it's not a big difference. Added to that the ATM's at Fiji add $10 AUD for a withdrawal.
