The Holy Grail - 100% Share Promo Coming???

Quite surprised to see this again. Currently holding 300k miles across 2 accounts... not sure if I want to go big again...
Isn't this the 3rd time in 6 months, not really that much of a surprise!

As for being not sure, surely this is the benchmark for good deals, hard to turn down! Even allowing for some devaluation buying a J return for $1500 to Europe can only be described as a brilliant deal!

The promotion is definitely live. You simply need to ensure you click through the promotion banner to get to the "share" page that DOES show the bonus miles in the drop down list. I have just gifted 50,000 miles to my husband, and he in turn gifted 50,000 miles to me. When I went to commence the second transaction, I simply navigated to the US Airways "buy and gift" page and it DID NOT show the bonus miles ... so I went back and clicked the banner ad and, voila, the bonus miles were in the drop down list.

It seems US Airways have set up a separate page for the purpose of this one week promotion. It certaintly could be a trap for the unwary!

50,000 gift and 50,000 bonus also confirmed on receipt at conclusion of transaction:

Seems much faster than last time, I have a (genuine) family group of 7 and last time it took me the whole 7 days to get all transactions through. This time first 3 transactions went through straight away so don't think it's going to be a problem. In fact stopping for tonight to spread the transactions out and not attract the attentions of the audit dept. Not that I'm doing anything wrong but that doesn't necessarily seem to stop them when you are doing transactions with some differing surnames and addresses.

I do think the fact all accounts are not new and we didn't rush out and spend immediately last time may mean we are no longer in the "risky" category.

That's the first big question. My suspicion is that there will be a devaluation when the joint FF scheme is announced. That should be in a lot less than 12 months. We (tm and tm+1) have around 400k Dividend Miles between us plus a bigger hunk more of AAdvantage miles. Second big question is should we add to it, by way of this offer, since we are going to effectively abandon QFF. The cynic in me wonders why this is being done so close the the AA/US FF amalgamation.

Everyone's a cynic, or maybe we all are just "grumpy old men". Cynicism aside, you could turn your question around (and be more positive) and ask why would they not do this, they had a share in October, one in December, why not now.

As for a devaluation, well yes we are all suspecting that when they finally do merge the AA chart will be used which is a devaluation but even so, this is still a bloody cheap way to buy AA miles. Personally I think those who think this merger will happen quickly are fooling themselves, mergers are never easy and I think USDM will be here all this year.

Anyone that is willing to share with me please send me a PM. I have 3 accounts all empty at the moment, would love to fill em up!

The reason to use this promotion, if you are expecting a devaluation, is simple. It will reduce the individual point valuation across your USDM portfolio.

Say you have participated in a variety of previous promotions, mostly buy (1.882 US cents per mile), and some share (1.1135 US cents per mile), your total portfolio of miles might be valued at, say, 1.6 US cents per mile. So, as long as you are adding miles to your portfolio at less than the aggregated value of your portfolio, you are reducing the impact of any devaluation (even though you are increasing your exposure to it). Of course this doesn't factor in conversion rates if you are buying in AUD, which adds another layer to the equation.

Add me to the list of requiring help. Or happy to split the cost for the initial lot for sharing... Does anyone have problems logging in?

Ok people asking for a buddy need to clear some space in their inbox and or edit that you are no longer seeking reciprocal rights as you have been inundated w' offers!

All done now for me, they were posting very quickly this time. A total of 150k new miles purchased using the method of A->C, then C->A and C->B where A and B are the accounts I wanted the miles in and C was a handy route to achieve that.

I have just tried to share 50,000 with my daughter and it comes up with the 50,000 and the 50,000 bonus - no problem there. However, it also comes up with a $500.00 charge for sharing. Is that right??? I've only ever bought miles before so not sure how the sharing works.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes. Share cost is $0.01/mile (+tax + $30).

Yes. It is the cheapest way of getting USDM points. If you share 50,000 with your daughter, she will receive 100,000 * it will cost you US$500 + US$30 processing fee +7.5% tax. She can then share 50,000 back to you for a similar charge, so you both end up with 50,000 more miles for US$567. If you were to purchase them with a 100% bonus offer, it would cost you US$940.

The Nett cost for 50k + 50K bonus is USD567.60.

Currently that's ~AUD612 + any forex fees/arbitrage. (http://www.xe.com/ucc/)
