I'm heading back to AU in a couple of weeks and decided to give EK F a whirl BKK-SYD, as probably won't get the chance again anytime soon.

Have chosen my seat (1A), but if there's a better seat I should choose - let me know, it's pretty empty right now; had the entire cabin to choose from. Booked the Chauffeur as well, hopefully no problems finding my place, but I'm sure they'll contact me if any problems there.

Menu from this month looks rather good, and they have JWB on board, so I'll be very happy with that (of course I'll try their other whiskeys as well!!)

Any tips from those of you who have flown this route in F? I'm actually really looking forward to it, and hopefully the experience is a hell of a lot better than what was on offer in Y (on the 380) last year, where the crew seemed to be invisible and not at all interested. (A short, relatively empty flight, maybe they were chilling out.;))

Been reading all these with interest - have got my trip from ADL DXB DXB LHR in F this week. Looking forward to the shower on the A380 and trying caviar. Will post some pictures
My experience earlier this year exceeded my expectations. Don't fill up in the lounge is my advice.

Just as a matter of interest do people normally tip the CD in Australia and in England and if so how much?

Makes sense to me! :p
Other than that it's pretty much exactly the same. Enjoy.
Apart from not having the showers (and access to the J bar), the 777 EK F experience is slightly better. In my oh-so-experienced opinion. The cabin is slightly more spacious in cross section. The higher ceilings have that lovely starry twinkle effect. The window seats have a better view. And the suite walls are higher, giving the passenger more privacy.

Otherwise, pretty much the same. Superb.

Indeed. It sucks the way Adelaide international passengers are treated. Hope you get the Maybach for your chauffeur!
I got a Kia van for my CD and the QP is very quiet and food on the floor and the food offerings are pathetic - hardly anything there. Not feeling the F love yet.

Oh dear. That's not what I'd expect at all! A Kia van? Seriously.

No F love yet. That's going to happen verrry soon.

OThought I’d revive this thread to give any newcomers some info on what to expect in F these days. I have just flown MEL-SIN on the A380. Excellent experience. Only two of us in the cabin (such a contrast from QF).

Service terrific. Although absent for chunks of the flight which necessitated use of call button twice (instant response).

Drinks selection great, although not everything was available. Didn’t visit bar or use the shower (was asked on boarding and of course was available if ever wanted). Great amenity kit and PJs. Cheap champagne offered on boarding (with apology that the good stuff comes later) plus coffee (refilled) and several dates.

Only pics I took were of food (will do better next flights)

Wonderful scotch with warm nuts.

Arabic mezze appetiser selection. Mostly outstanding but salad and the cheese pastry were a little disappointing.

How good were those hot nuts :)

I remember finding them set up for me when I returned from a shower.
They are good. According to the menu there was meant to be canapés but they never materialised. Not really needed given everything else on the menu (which I didn’t snap but should be on the website). There were plenty of choices.
